Isabelle’s Perspective
I was lost in my thoughts, staring out the window, when I suddenly heard the door open. My heart skipped a beat. I knew exactly who it was—Luca. A nervous shiver ran down my spine. I wasn't sure why I was feeling this way, but I just was. “Babe, I’m back,” Luca’s deep voice filled the room, but then… silence. I hesitated for a second before turning around to face him. The moment my eyes landed on him, my breath hitched. God, he looked so good. Luca was standing there in ripped jeans and a simple t-shirt, which clung to his muscular frame perfectly. He wasn't wearing his usual formal attire, and that only made him look even sexier. His broad shoulders, toned arms, and defined chest were all on display. I had always thought he was the definition of perfection, but tonight, he was something else entirely. This man is mine. If I claim him, he belongs to me. A part of me should feel lucky, but I couldn’t bring myself to fully accept that thought. Things were complicated between us. When I finally managed to pull myself out of my daze, I looked into his mesmerizing blue eyes—except… they weren’t blue anymore. My body tensed. Golden. His eyes were glowing gold. Fear gripped me. I had seen them change colour before, but I never understood why. My lips parted slightly as I whispered, “Lu-Luca, your eyes…” Luca blinked a few times before a smirk appeared on his lips. “Kitten, you look stunning,” he said, stepping toward me. He completely ignored my concern.
“Babe, I’m sorry. That was my wolf. He tried to take over for a second,” he finally explained, his voice calm. I swallowed. His wolf? “But…""Why?” I asked, curious yet hesitant. Luca’s smirk widened as he ran a hand through his dark hair. “Well, you’re looking fucking sexy right now. Zydus wasn’t able to control himself around you. He’s eager to mark you, babe.” Heat rushed to my face, a mixture of embarrassment and nervousness washing over me. A part of me was flustered by his words, but another part of me was terrified. What does marking even mean? How does it work? Would he…? No. I didn’t want to think about that. Luca must have sensed my unease because he tilted his head slightly. “Don’t worry, kitten. He’ll behave,” he assured me, his voice laced with amusement. I nodded slowly. “Umm… okay.” Then, his expression turned serious. “Now come here.” I froze. “What?” I raised an eyebrow at him. “You heard me. Come.”
I didn’t move. A chill ran down my spine. I was still wary of him, especially after seeing his eyes change right in front of me. What if his wolf was still in control? What if he lost control? My mind raced with a hundred different possibilities. Before I could react, Luca suddenly grabbed me by the waist and pulled me flush against his body. A gasp left my lips. There was no space between us. “What are you doing?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Luca didn’t answer. Instead, he reached up and gently tucked a loose strand of my hair behind my ear, his fingers brushing against my skin. My breath hitched. Then, I realized—he had cleared my neck. Panic bubbled inside me. Wait… what is he doing? Is he going to bite me? Drink my blood?
A thousand thoughts swirled in my mind as I stammered, “Lu-Luca, what are you doing?” “Easy, kitten. Just relax,” he murmured, his voice sending shivers down my spine. The moment his lips touched my neck, my entire body heated up. My knees almost gave out. His warm breath fanned over my skin as he trailed soft, lingering kisses along my neck. My body betrayed me. I was melting into his embrace. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Then, he buried his face in the crook of my neck and inhaled deeply. Was he… smelling me? A whimper almost escaped my lips. Damn it, Isabelle. Pull yourself together.
“Luca, stop,” I finally managed to say. He pulled away after a few seconds, his blue eyes dark with something intense. Desire? Possession? I wasn’t sure. Then, he suddenly said, “How about we ditch the date and stay in bed instead?” Oh, hell no. I immediately regretted wearing this dress. I should have known better. “I—uh—I’m hungry,” I blurted out, grasping at anything to get out of this situation. “So… you’re going to let me eat, right?” Luca chuckled, shaking his head. “Looks like someone’s bossy today.” I frowned. “Uh…” “Relax, babe. I’m joking.” He reached out, taking my hand in his. “Let’s go, sweetheart. We don’t want to be late, right?” I let out a breath of relief. “Yeah. Let’s go.” Like a true gentleman, he walked me outside and opened the car door for me. “Get inside, kitten.” I did as he said, and soon, we were on the road. It had been about twenty minutes, and I was getting curious. “Where are we going?” I asked, glancing at him.
