Isabelle’s POV

When I woke up, the bed beside me was empty—just like always. Luca was gone again. I sighed, pushing myself up and rubbing my eyes. Where could he be this early in the morning? Shaking my head, I climbed out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. The warm water from the shower hit my skin, washing away the sleepiness, but it couldn’t wash away the thoughts running through my mind. Last night flashed before my eyes—the moment I had spent with his wolf, Zydus. I loved Zydus, his wolf form. He felt safe, warm, and comforting. But when Luca let his wolf take control completely, that side of him—the dominant, possessive, ruthless side—scared me. What if he’s really changing? No. I quickly shook my head, scolding myself. I couldn’t let myself fall into that trap again. Luca wasn’t the type to change. He was controlling and obsessive. But then… why did I feel so unsure? I sighed, realizing I was arguing with myself in my own head.

Great, now I’m going crazy too. After finishing my shower, I wrapped a towel around me and stepped out, drying my hair quickly. I picked out a comfortable outfit and got dressed. When I walked toward the bedroom door, I hesitated. To my surprise, it was unlocked. That was rare. Taking the opportunity, I quietly stepped out and headed downstairs, deciding to grab something to eat. As I reached the dining area, I noticed Luca wasn’t there. That was strange. One of the maids noticed me and walked over. "Good morning, Luna. Do you want something?"

"Yes, can you make me some coffee?" I asked, offering her a small smile. "Of course, Luna." While she prepared my coffee, I took a seat at the dining table, trying to shake off the uneasiness I felt. I had no idea where Luca had gone this early, and the thought unsettled me. A few minutes later, the chef placed the coffee in front of me. I thanked him and took a sip, letting the warmth of it relax me. Still, my mind kept drifting back to Luca. Where was he? I glanced toward the kitchen, spotting another maid standing nearby. "Hey, listen," I called out. The maid immediately straightened and bowed slightly. "Yes, Luna?"

"Do you know where your Alpha is?" I asked, tilting my head. "I'm sorry, Luna, but I don’t know. He might be in a meeting or handling something important," she answered. I sighed, waving my hand. "Alright, you can go." She nodded and left, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I was definitely going to get bored here if I had nothing to do. Just as I was lost in my thoughts, the front doors opened, and Luca walked in. "Morning, princess," he greeted with a smile before pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. "Morning," I replied, blinking at him. "I didn’t expect you to wake up so early," he said, sitting beside me. "I had a good sleep last night," I admitted. His eyes softened. "Did my princess have her breakfast?" "Uh… yeah." I sipped my coffee, narrowing my eyes slightly. Something was off. Why was he acting so… soft? So cheesy? I muttered under my breath, "What’s wrong with him?" Luca chuckled. "Look, I got something for you." I raised an eyebrow. "What?" He reached into his jacket and pulled out a small gift-wrapped box.

"Here. Open it." I placed my coffee mug down and hesitantly unwrapped the gift. As soon as I saw what was inside, my eyes widened. An iPhone 14 Pro Max. I stared at the box, completely shocked. What the hell? Luca never trusted me with a phone before. Why was he suddenly giving me one now? My mind raced with a thousand different thoughts, but before I could say anything, Luca spoke. "Look, babe," he started, his voice softer than usual. "I know I’ve been hard on you. I took your life away—your studies, your social media, your freedom. And I know that wasn’t fair to you." I blinked at him in surprise. Luca never admitted things like this. He continued, "I want to trust you. I want to give you a chance. So, I decided to get you a new phone. You can use it however you want—take pictures, play games, whatever." My heart skipped a beat. Was this real? But then, Luca’s voice turned sharp. "A new SIM card is inside, and my email is connected to it. That means whatever you do, I’ll know. Don’t try to be smart." And just like that, my moment of shock turned into bitter realization. Of course, there was a catch. There was always a catch with Luca. "A tracker is installed in it," he continued, his tone casual as if he wasn’t saying something insane.
