Isabelle’s Perspective
The past few days passed quickly, and somehow, I found myself slipping into a new routine. After that night, Luca started taking care of me differently. He treated me like a queen, just like he always said he would. I never thought I’d reach a point where I wouldn’t fight him anymore, but here I was—doing everything he told me without a second thought. I guess I had learned my lesson. But what shocked me the most was that I had willingly given a chance to a werewolf. Luca kissed me whenever he wanted, and I didn't argue at all. What was wrong with me? Why wasn’t I resisting anymore? Instead, I craved his touch, missed his presence when he wasn’t around, and wanted him close. Was this the mate bond he had told me about? Now, I understood why every time he touched me, I felt something deep inside—an undeniable spark. It was different from anything I had ever felt before. Even with Ryan, I was never comfortable enough to take things further. But with Luca, it was different. I wanted him, and that thought scared me.
I still remember the embarrassment from that night when I asked him to complete the mate bond. He had rejected me, telling me it wasn’t the right time, and deep down, I knew he was right. I wasn’t in my senses then, but now, I was. And yet, I couldn’t believe how desperate I was becoming for him. Today was different. Luca had planned a date for me, and I couldn’t help but feel nervous. He told me Aurora was coming over to meet me, and that made me even more anxious. She had lied to me, kept the biggest secret from me, and now, I didn’t know how to react to her. When I woke up, Luca wasn’t in bed. I ran a hand through my messy hair and sighed. After a few minutes of thinking about my day, I got out of bed and went to take a shower. The warm water helped ease my nerves, and after wrapping a towel around my body, I stepped out of the bathroom. The moment I walked into the room, I saw Aurora standing there, waiting for me.
"Hey, girllllll! How are you doing?" she said, smiling brightly. I hesitated for a second before responding. "Hey, Aurora," I said shyly. "I was so excited to meet you, Izzy! Go get dressed. We’ll have breakfast together and then go outside. I know you have a lot of questions, and I’ll answer every single one of them. But hurry up, we don’t have a lot of time. You also have a date today, remember?" she said, winking at me. I clenched my jaw. How could she act so normal after everything? She hid something so huge from me, something that changed my life forever. The audacity! "Woah, woah, woah. Calm the fuck down," I scoffed, crossing my arms. "What do you mean by going outside? Luca won’t allow it, and you know that very well. And besides, I don’t want to go anywhere with you." Aurora’s smile faded, and she looked down. "Isabelle, I know you have every reason to be mad at me, but I had my reasons." I rolled my eyes. "Oh, come on, Aurora. Seriously? Stop your bullshit," I snapped, my frustration boiling over. She sighed. "Okay, calm down. Let’s have breakfast outside, and I’ll explain everything. If you still don’t want to talk to me afterward, that’s up to you. Just give me one last chance, please?" she pleaded, her blue eyes softening. I huffed, trying to resist, but when she made a puppy face, I groaned.
"Ugh, stop looking at me like that," I grumbled. "So… does that mean you’ll go with me?" she asked excitedly. I frowned. "Fine, I’ll go," I muttered. "Yayyyy! Thank you, Isabelle!" she cheered, pulling me into a tight hug. I froze. "Geez, calm down, woman! Can’t you see I’m naked?" I squealed, pushing her away. Aurora laughed. "Oops! Go get dressed then. I’ll wait." Rolling my eyes, I quickly changed into a casual outfit, did my hair, and applied light makeup. Once I was ready, I followed Aurora downstairs. But as soon as we reached Luca’s office door, my stomach twisted in knots. We stood in front of the door, hesitating. "Isabelle, you go first. I’ll support you from behind," Aurora whispered. I turned to her with a glare. "Look, I don’t think this is a good idea. Don’t you remember the consequences I faced last time?" I said, lowering my voice. She furrowed her brows. "What do you mean by that?" "Oh, so your dear brother didn’t tell you?" I scoffed. "Tell me what?" she asked, now looking genuinely concerned. I exhaled sharply. "Let’s just talk to him first. Then, we’ll talk about it later," I muttered.
