Alpha Luca’s Perspective

It was 12 in the morning, and after many days, I was finally visiting the pack house again. For the past few weeks, I have been too focused on my mate, Isabelle. Taking care of her, making sure she was adjusting, and keeping her safe had taken up most of my time. But I couldn’t neglect my duties as Alpha. No matter how much I wanted to be with her every second of the day, my pack came first. Thankfully, my Beta, Eric, had been handling everything well. I trusted him completely, which was why I hadn’t been too worried about leaving things in his hands. But from now on, I will make sure to visit the pack house every day. As I walked toward the entrance, a group of warriors standing nearby immediately noticed me. They straightened up and bowed their heads in respect. “Morning, Alpha!” they greeted in unison. I gave them a nod. “Morning, soldiers. How’s everything going?”

One of the warriors, a tall, muscular man with a serious expression, stepped forward. “Everything is going smoothly, Alpha. We haven’t found any traces of rogues in the territory.” I narrowed my eyes slightly. No traces? That meant the rogues were keeping their profiles low. Either they were planning something, or they were lying low for now. “Alright,” I said, keeping my expression neutral. “Keep doing your duties. I’ll speak to your beta.” “Yes, Alpha!” they responded before getting back to their tasks. I walked inside the pack house, the familiar scent of home filling my senses. The place was lively as ever—wolves going about their work, children running around and laughing, packing members chatting and preparing for the day. It felt good to be back. Just as I stepped further inside, I spotted Eric heading toward the training grounds. A smirk tugged at my lips. “Eric! Look who’s back!” I called out, making my way toward him.

Eric stopped in his tracks and turned around, his eyes widening slightly. He gave me a small bow. “Alpha, you’re back.” I rolled my eyes. “Cut the formalities, Eric. We don’t need that when we’re alone.” Eric chuckled. “Right, right. It’s just a habit.” I crossed my arms. “So, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with your mate?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. A small smirk formed on my lips as I thought about Isabelle. “I spent some quality time with her, but I can’t let you handle everything alone. You’ve done enough. It’s time for me to take over again.”
Eric nodded in understanding. “Makes sense.” I glanced past him toward the training field. “Pack training, huh?” “Yes, Alpha,” he said. “Do you want to join us?” A slow grin spread across my face. It had been a while since I trained with my warriors, and I could use some action. “Yeah, let’s go.”

Emily’s Perspective

"Emily, what’s going on? You’re not focusing on the warm-up," my best friend Stella said as she jogged in place beside me. I sighed, trying to shake off my thoughts. "I was just thinking about something." Stella stopped jogging and turned to me with a knowing smirk. "About what? I know you very well. You’re thinking about Alpha, aren’t you?" I rolled my eyes but didn’t deny it. "Yeah!"

"And what exactly are you thinking?" she pressed. I let out a frustrated breath. "That when he will come back. He doesn’t even give us attention. We are his pack members, and yet, he spends all his time locked away." Stella, now doing push-ups, scoffed. "Emily, he’s busy with work. You know how important the pack is to him." I didn’t respond. She might be my best friend, but there were things she didn’t need to know. She was loyal to the pack and had her mate here. Telling her about my plans would be too risky. Before she could ask anything else, a deep, commanding voice echoed behind us. "Good morning, pack members!" I froze. That voice. Luca. I turned around, my heart racing as I laid my eyes on my mate. "Look, Alpha is here, Emily. Are you happy now?" Stella teased. A wide smile formed on my lips as I took in his tall, powerful form. He looked handsome as always, his presence alone demanding respect and submission. "He’s looking good, right, Keena?" I asked my wolf, eager to share my excitement. "Yeah, whatever," she responded lazily.
