Isabelle’s Perspective
"You’re dead to everyone." His words rang in my ears, sending a chill down my spine. I blinked at him, my mind struggling to process what he had just said. “Wait… what the fuck? What do you mean by that?” I scoffed, trying to laugh it off. “Did you hit your head in a meeting or something?” But Luca wasn’t laughing. His expression remained calm—too calm. That only made my stomach churn with unease. "Listen to me very carefully, Bella," he said in that low, smooth voice that terrified me more than when he yelled. "I’ve been working on this for days. I erased your identity from this world. Every record of you—your school records, your medical history, your address, your family background—everything is gone. No one will remember you. As far as the world is concerned, Isabelle King never existed." My breath hitched. I felt like I had been slapped across the face. My knees felt weak, and my chest tightened as if I couldn’t breathe.
“You’re lying,” I whispered, shaking my head in disbelief. "Luca, tell me this is a joke." I grabbed the collar of his shirt, desperate to see some hint of amusement on his face, some indication that he was just messing with me. But there was nothing. Just that same, unreadable expression. “Luca, tell me you're joking! Please,” I begged, standing up from his lap. He let me go this time, watching me with those dark, emotionless eyes. “Do I look like I’m joking?” His voice was firm. Tears burned my eyes as I took a step back, shaking my head. “How could you?” My voice cracked. “How could you do this? You’re a monster, Luca. You don’t have a heart.”
I felt sick. It wasn’t just that he had trapped me here—it was the fact that he had made sure there was no way out. No one could find me. No one would even look for me. But then, an idea hit me. “My parents know I exist,” I said defiantly, my voice trembling but strong. “My best friend, Jessica, knows I exist! Do whatever the hell you want, but you can’t erase their memories. They’ll always know who I am.” Luca sighed, as if I were a child throwing a tantrum. Then he smirked. That wicked, dangerous smirk that made my blood run cold. “Oh, Bella,” he said, stepping closer. “You’re so innocent. But I like my plans to be… perfect.” I swallowed hard. “What do you mean?” He tilted his head. "Your parents? They were the easiest. A little money in their hands, and they agreed to my terms without hesitation. They don’t care about you, Isabelle. They never did." My heart clenched painfully. I knew my parents were selfish, but hearing it from Luca made me feel disgusted.
Tears slipped down my cheeks, but I refused to break. I refused to let him see how deeply his words cut me. “And Jessica?” My voice wavered. “What did you do to her?” Luca’s smirk widened. “Oh, she’s safe,” he said nonchalantly. "But no matter how hard you try, she’ll never recognize you again." My stomach dropped. “What?” I whispered. “What did you do?” "Nothing much," he said, amused. "Just made sure that if she ever sees you again, her mind won’t remember you." I staggered back, gripping the edge of the desk to steady myself. No. No, this can’t be happening. He erased me from the world. He did something to jessica. He made sure I had no one. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, he delivered the final blow. "If you try to run again, Bella, and you ask someone for help, they’ll only send you right back to me." His eyes gleamed with satisfaction. "Because I’ve informed all police departments that you belong to me. And that you have… mental issues." I froze. My hands trembled. "You what?" I whispered in horror.
"They believe you’re insane," he said, his smirk deepening. "If you go to anyone, they’ll think you’re delusional and dangerous. No one will help you, Bella. They’ll only bring you home to me." My vision turned red. This… this bastard. I didn’t even think. Before I could stop myself, my hand flew across his face. SLAP! The sound echoed through the room. Luca’s head snapped to the side, and for a brief moment, everything was silent. Then, slowly, he turned his head back to me. His eyes were darker now, filled with rage. His jaw clenched, and I could see the muscles twitching. Oh. Oh, shit. I fucked up. I spun around and ran. I sprinted toward the bedroom, my heart pounding so loudly I could hear it in my ears. I barely made it inside before slamming the door shut and locking it. My breath was ragged as I pressed my back against the door. My hands were shaking, my body trembling with fear and adrenaline. On the other side, I heard heavy footsteps. Then… a low chuckle.
