Luca’s Perspective
"Lu-Luca? You?" Isabelle's voice trembled as she stood frozen at the cabin door, her wide eyes staring at me in shock. How fucking dare she pull that stunt. I clenched my jaw, rage boiling inside me. "Yes, me." My voice came out cold, sharp, and laced with fury as I glared at her. Through our mate bond, I could feel her emotions like they were my own—fear, panic, disbelief. She’s afraid of me. Just great. That’s not what I wanted. But at least she’s safe. Thank the Moon Goddess for that. Then, my eyes flicked to the white bandage wrapped around her forehead. My blood ran hot. What the fuck? Growl. In the blink of an eye, I was standing in front of the old couple—the Omegas. They flinched at my sudden movement, their eyes lowering in submission. "What did you do to her?" My voice thundered through the mind-link, directed at both of them. The old woman immediately responded.
"Alpha, we did nothing! My husband found her unconscious in the forest and brought her here. Please trust us!" I narrowed my eyes, scanning their faces. Their heartbeats were steady. No deception. If they were lying, they’d already be dead by now. Satisfied, I turned back to Isabelle, who still stood frozen in shock. "You really thought you could escape me?" My voice was low, dangerous. Her heartbeat spiked. Fast. Erratic. Then she snapped. "How dare you!" she shouted, whirling toward the old couple. "I trusted you both, and you betrayed me!" Foolish girl. They didn’t betray her. They made the right choice. The Omegas immediately bowed their heads. "We are sorry, Luna," they said in unison. My jaw clenched. Luna. The title sounded right. She was mine. My mate. My queen. But Isabelle—being the stubborn little thing she was—wasn’t having it. Her eyes burned with defiance. "What the fuck is this ‘Luna’ shit? My name is Isabelle King!"
I smirked. Oh, sweetheart, you’ll learn soon enough. Before the Omegas could explain, I cut in.
"Let’s go, Isabelle. We have a long distance to cover." Her hands clenched into fists. "Fuck no! I am not going anywhere with you!" Before I could react, she shoved the old couple aside and bolted toward the back door. Ugh. This woman. I curled my fingers into fists, my patience wearing thin. "She’s seriously testing me, Zydus," I growled to my wolf. "She’s strong-willed," my wolf rumbled. "But we both know she won’t get far." I exhaled sharply, turning toward my Beta and my warrior, who stood silently behind me, watching the entire scene unfold. "What the hell are you both looking at? Go and get her!" They nodded and sprinted off in opposite directions to cut her off. Turning back to the Omegas, I inclined my head slightly. "Thank you for keeping my mate safe. You may ask for anything in return." The old man shook his head quickly. "Alpha, it is an honor to have you and our Luna in our home." I gave a firm nod before my gaze darkened.
"Now, listen carefully." Both Omegas stiffened. "Do not tell anyone about your Luna." My voice dropped into a lethal tone. "If I hear even the slightest whisper, you’ll be dead before you can blink." I let my Alpha command seep into my words, ensuring there was no room for disobedience. "Yes, Alpha!" they both responded immediately, bowing deeper. Good. Now, it was time to retrieve what was mine.
Isabelle’s Perspective
"Hey, motherfuckers, leave me the hell alone!" I screamed, struggling against the grip of the woman dragging me forward. "Let me go, bitch!" I spat at her, thrashing wildly, but she barely reacted—just rolled her eyes and pulled me along as if I weighed nothing. "Stop fighting, Isabelle," she said, exasperated. My heart pounded as I caught sight of him—Luca. He stood near the car, his face unreadable, but his presence alone sent a cold shiver down my spine. "Isabelle, get in the car," he ordered, his voice laced with anger. I gulped. A bad feeling settled in my stomach. This wouldn't end well for me—I knew it. But still, I forced my chin up and spat, "No!" Luca’s eyes darkened. His jaw ticked. "Don't test my patience, Isabelle. Get in the damn car!" Terror gripped me, but I couldn't give in. "Please, let me go! Luca, please!" I pleaded, but he turned away, already done with my resistance.
