Luca's Perspective
The moment my eyes landed on her, I knew—she was mine. My mate. My wolf stirred inside me, his excitement barely contained. "Our mate is checking us out. I want to mark her. I want to claim her," my wolf growled in my mind, his voice dripping with desire. I couldn’t blame him. She was staring at me with wide eyes, drinking in every detail of my body like she wanted to memorize it. And oh, how I wanted her to. Her gaze travelled from my face, down my chest, lingering just a little too long on my arms before making its way back up. When she bit her lip, I clenched my fists, struggling to suppress the dark thoughts running wild in my head. I smirked.
.
The Moon Goddess had truly blessed me. I had expected my mate to be gentle, submissive—someone who would melt in my presence. But no, she was fiery, bold, and completely unaware of what I was. And I loved it. My little mate had no idea that she belonged to me, that she was mine in every possible way. "I want to bend her over and kiss every inch of her skin," my wolf whispered, and I had to shake the thought away before I lost control. I needed to be patient. She was human. She didn’t know about werewolves, about mates, about the bond that would tie us together forever. But she would learn. I would make her fall so deeply in love with me that she wouldn’t even think about leaving my side. But first, I needed to take her with me. I mind-linked Eric. "Bring the car to the beach parking. Be ready."
"Yes, Alpha," he responded immediately. Just as I was about to reach for her hand, she suddenly snapped out of whatever fantasy she had been lost in. Her eyes hardened, and she yanked her hand away from my grip. "Who the hell do you think you are?" she spat. "Who gave you the right to touch me? And why the fuck are you claiming me?" I laughed. Loudly. Her anger was adorable. "As I told you, you’re mine," I said, my voice calm but firm. "And you’re coming with me, whether you like it or not."
I could see the moment my words registered. A shiver ran down her spine, but she masked it well, standing her ground. "Oh, hell no," she retorted, her voice laced with defiance. I was about to grab her hand again when that pathetic excuse of a man—stepped between us, blocking me. "Hey, man, why are you touching my girlfriend?" Girlfriend? My wolf let out a furious growl, pushing forward. My vision darkened, my body tensed, and I felt the familiar shift in my eyes—pitch black. He noticed, and his expression faltered. Fear. He could feel the danger radiating off me. "What did you just say?" I asked, my voice dangerously low. "I said, don’t fucking touch my girlfriend and get lost!" That was the last straw. I threw a punch straight into his face, and he dropped to the ground, groaning in pain. Blood dripped from his nose.
The sight satisfied something dark inside me. My mate gasped. "What the fuck? Are you in your senses? Why did you punch my boyfriend?" she yelled, kneeling down beside him. Boyfriend. That word again. She didn’t belong to him. She never did. I grabbed Ryan by the collar, lifting him up effortlessly. He was frozen in shock, too weak, too scared to fight back. Pathetic. I was about to land another punch when a voice interrupted me. "Alpha, stop!"
It was Eric. I clenched my jaw, my grip tightening on that bastard shirt. "She's afraid. Don't do this. We will come back, but this is not the right way," Eric continued.
I let out a low growl, but I knew he was right. This wasn’t how I wanted her to see me—not yet. So, I released him with a shove, watching as he crumpled back to the sand. Then, I turned to my mate. "I will come back, baby girl," I said with a smirk. "Don’t miss me too much. Enjoy your days with this fucker while you can." Then, without another word, I turned and walked away. Eric was driving as I sat in the back of the car, staring out the window, still thinking about her. My mate. I finally found her, and I was never letting her go.
I exhaled sharply and turned to Eric. "Eric, I want you to do something for me." He straightened immediately. "Yes, Alpha?"
.
I leaned forward. "You’re my Beta and my best friend. I’m going to tell you something, and if I ever find out this information from someone else before you tell me, you’re going to bury yourself. Understand?" Eric gulped. "Yes, Alpha." I smirked. "Good. I found my mate." Eric’s face lit up. "Finally! Luca, that’s amazing!" I let the moment linger before dropping the bomb. "She’s human." Silence. Eric’s expression shifted. "A human Luna?" he asked in a slow voice, like he couldn’t believe it. I narrowed my eyes. "Be careful, Eric. If I hear even a single word against my mate, I will bury you myself." He swallowed hard. "Sorry, Alpha." "It’s okay," I muttered. Then I leaned back in my seat, cracking my knuckles. "Now, listen carefully. I want you to track them. Find out everything about them. Where they live, where they go, who their families are." Eric nodded.
"Understood." I smirked darkly. "Especially that fucker Ryan’s family. I want to know everything about him. And my little mate’s family too." I stared out the window again, my mind racing. She could fight me all she wanted. She could scream, yell, and try to run. It didn’t matter. She was mine.
And soon, she would realize that there was no escaping me.
