Eric’s POV

It had been two long hours since we started running in our wolf form, and there was still an hour left in our journey. My heart pounded with worry for my Alpha and Luna. I had no idea what condition they were in. The thought of them being trapped or harmed made my wolf restless. "Run faster, warriors!" I mind-linked my pack, pushing them to move quicker. We couldn’t afford to waste time."Half of you go towards Dave’s pack, and the rest follow me. If any of their pack members try to stop you, kill them on the spot. If they want war, we will give them war. Now go!" I commanded. We were a total of eighty warriors. Forty of them headed straight to Dave’s pack, ready to destroy anyone who dared to stand against us. The remaining forty stayed with me as we raced through the dense forest, following the faint scent of our alpha. The scent of blood and hostility filled the air, making my wolf growl in anger.

After a few more hours, we finally reached an old, abandoned building. The structure was crumbling, surrounded by thick trees, hidden from plain sight. But my wolf’s sharp senses picked up something even more alarming—there were warriors guarding the building. Their scent was everywhere. "Camellia, take a few warriors and go from behind. I’ll go in from the front," I mind-linked her. She nodded before disappearing into the shadows with her team. I stepped forward, my paws silent against the cold ground, but the guards noticed us immediately.

"Intruders! Alert the others!" one of them shouted. Before they could react, I howled loudly into the air, a signal for my warriors. The sound echoed through the night, and within seconds, chaos erupted. The enemy warriors shifted into their wolf forms, ready to fight. Growls and snarls filled the air as bodies crashed against each other. Claws slashed, teeth tore into flesh, and the ground became slick with blood. I had no time to waste. While my warriors kept them distracted, I made my way toward the entrance of the building. A few rogue wolves tried to block my path, but I was faster. I lunged at one, sinking my canines into his throat. A gurgled scream escaped him before he collapsed, dead within seconds. Another attacked, but I slashed my claws across his stomach, spilling his insides onto the floor. Without hesitation, I shifted back into my human form and stormed into the building. The scent of Alpha Luca was strong here. I followed it, my steps quick and determined. My heart pounded as I checked different rooms, but they were all empty. Then, after a few minutes of searching, I found a staircase leading underground. The smell of blood was overwhelming now, thick and metallic.

My instincts screamed at me to hurry. I rushed down the stairs, my fists clenched. At the bottom, I found a door—locked. But I could smell them inside. Luca. Isabelle. They were here. Without wasting a second, I kicked the door with all my strength. The wooden frame shattered, the door breaking into two pieces as it crashed onto the floor. As I stepped inside, the sight before me sent a chill down my spine. Blood. Bodies. Death. Lifeless bodies were sprawled across the cold stone floor. The air was thick with the scent of spilt blood, making my stomach twist. My gaze landed on Dave’s corpse—his head was completely separated from his body, lying a few feet away. His eyes were still open, frozen in an expression of shock and terror. His blood pooled around him, soaking into the ground. Around him, the bodies of his soldiers and rogues littered the room. Hearts had been ripped from their chests, their once-beating organs now nothing but discarded flesh on the ground. The walls were splattered with blood, and the room transformed into a nightmare of brutality and death. Then, my eyes found Emily. Her body lay motionless, her chest torn open, her heart missing. A shiver ran through me. Whoever did this had shown no mercy. And then, I saw them.

In the centre of the chaos, Luca was on the floor, cradling Isabelle in his arms. His clothes were stained with blood, his face filled with exhaustion and desperation. But what struck me the most was the look in his eyes—fear. Fear of losing his mate. "Alpha!" I rushed to his side, my heart racing. "What happened? Is she—?"
