Sofia did not believe in superstition, but sometimes, the thought of something bad happening scared her. Especially when her life is now thriving on cloud nine, she has been receiving project after project, and not to mention, Shahana gave her the best news of her life a week ago when she barged into her cabin and informed her of an email that she had never dreamed of. Her company has been selected to showcase its designs at Paris Couture Week. She had asked Shahana to try their luck and get themselves entered into the list, but they never expected to really get chosen. This is something huge for them, and thus, her time was consumed at work brainstorming with her creative design team for three or more hours straight, and the rest of her time would be spent on her other project. There would be barely any time left for herself, and that has led to no time for her husband, who has been sulking over her busy schedule.
Right now, as she is taking the meeting, she knows that under her silent phone, there is a tornado of messages being bombarded. It has been going on since morning.
Sofia has been leaving home early for work these days while Arsalan sleeps soundly, and the only intimate action between them would be her planting a kiss on his cheek. Both of them have a pretty busy schedule. Arsalan's new resort project is about to come to its end, and he isn't leaving any loose ends, so he has been making sure everything goes perfectly. While he comes late at night, she sleeps early, and when she wakes early, he sleeps late, and thus he has been sulking for weeks now for not being able to have his wife for himself.
Malakeh, Arsalan's mom, has been complaining too that she doesn't get to see her own son and Sofia on the dining table nowadays; it's only Asmara, and even Zaid barely visits now that he is married. She, too, has been sulking while she and Sofia talked over the phone while she was sitting with Shahana and Sebastian to go through the couture event list.
Whereas, Asmara said she missed their time together when they used to watch MasterChef Australia, to which Sofia promised to watch the missed episode together once she gets free from her work, and that isn't anytime soon, but a promise was a promise. She will take out time now that the designs have been styled; only a few important things remain to finalise.
She was about to dismiss her meeting when her secretary entered the room without knocking, looking all nervous. Sofia frowns at her until Ritu comes near her and lowers herself to whisper only for her to hear, "Um..Mr. Abidi is here in your cabin, and he is demanding your presence at once"
"And you informed him I am in a meeting?" Sofia asked, raising her eyebrows in question.
"I did"
Sofia sighs mentally. Seeing how nervous Ritu looks, she could only imagine how authoritative Arsalan must have been while demanding her to do the needful. His commands make people do what's required of them, even if they aren't related to him in any way. He does that when he needs to get his work done.
Sofia turns to her team and declares, "The meeting is dismissed" Everyone waits until she is out of the room, and then they rush out, and all the while Sofia thinks about how to handle her husband.
She enters her cabin to find him standing in the middle of the room with his back to her, and suddenly her heart aches just by looking at him. Now she knows how badly she was missing him as he stands there with his broad, defined shoulder, one that she knows how amazing they feel under her hands when hugged. Oh, she missed him gravely.
"Arsalan," She calls out, and he turns around immediately, looking so heart-wrenchingly handsome as always. Those beautiful hairs of his, combed perfectly, one that she loves messing with, made her crave to do so, and his beautiful, beautiful grey eyes that hold the emotions of his heart make her want to drown in them, and those lush lips that she knows the taste of parts with her name, "Sofia."
