ZURI

I screamed & cried loudly as Mariano carried me out of the house. I screamed out Emilio's name until I could feel my throat begin to burn.

"P-Please!" I hiccuped. I pleaded but he refused to let go of me.

"Geo please do something! Please don't leave him in there!" I screamed, my lips quivered as I cried.

Geo looked at me with sad eyes.

Mariano attempted to put me in the backseat of the car but I didn't budge.

"How many minutes left?" Geo whispered.

"2, but we can't waste any longer." Mariano responded.

"Stay here Zuri." Geo pointed at me, the seriousness in his voice made me nod my head.

"I'm not leaving without him, I just can't." Geo shook his head.

Mariano sighed & nodded.

I watched as they both headed back inside. I looked at Mariano, watching as he weirdly ran back in. He practically was rapidly limping.

Within 30 seconds, I saw them walking out of the house carrying an unconscious Emilio.

I opened the back door & they put him in. I got in & Mariano closed the back door for me. Then Geo jogged to the driver's side & stepped in. Mariano got into the passenger's seat & closed the door.

Geo quickly turned on the car & drove out of the long drive way as fast as he could.

I looked at Emilio & more tears began to fall from my eyes. The color in his face slowly began to drain.

"Check his pulse sis." Geo spoke up & I nodded.

I gently straddled Emilio's lap & placed my fingers on his neck, right above his faint pulse.

"It's barely there." I whispered out & Geo sped down the road.

"Hold onto something." Geo said & I grabbed the handle above me.

"Ah shit here we go again." Mariano sighed as he grabbed the grab handle above him & held tightly onto his seatbelt.

Geo then swerved on the road making my body jolt sideways & hit the back of the driver's seat.

"Ow." I whimpered.

I looked out the back window & watched as Emilio's entire house blew up along with a few trees around us, multiple massive trees nearly falling on the car as we drove through the empty dark road.
