JuJus POV

I drove home from school and ran up to my room. I got out my phone and immediately, called Hannah.

After 3 rings, she answered. "Hannah, are you coming over? I really need help on my outfit." I said, stressing out.

I'm really nervous. This is my first date. I wanna look good but I don't want to look too sophisticated or boring. That's why I called Hannah. She is like THE fashion expert.

"Yep, on my way. I'll be there in 10." She said, excitedly, letting out a squeal through the phone.

I covered my ears until she stopped. Once she did, I laughed. "Great. See ya." I said, then, hung up.

I was looking in my closet, trying to find my best casual, but, date-worthy, clothes. I couldn't find anything. Man, I really DO need Hannah's help.

I walked back to my bed and laid on it, waiting for Hannah to come by.

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.

But it wasn't Hannah.

It was Collin.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" I asked surprised to see him.

"I just wanted to drop off a bracelet that you could wear with your outfit for tonight. Matt told me to bring it to you because it's a little hint, telling you where you will be going tonight." He said.

He then handed me a bracelet. It was gold with a seashell, 3 different colored marbles and the letter M.

"M for Matt?" I asked smiling.

Collin chuckled, "Yeah. He said he couldn't find the letter J for your name, so, he put M for his name to represent the start of your friendshi- I mean relationship. And so you can remember him." He said, laughing at the last sentence he said.

I put the bracelet on and smiled. This is the first gift I've had for a while from someone other than my dad, Hannah and Nurse Nancy.

Unexpectedly, I stood on my tip toes and hugged Collin. He was caught by surprise but later hugged me back.

"Thank you, for giving me this." I said, unwrapping my arms from his shoulders.

"Anytime, Grace." He said, calling me by my last name instead of my first. I liked it though.

"Do you wanna come in for a little bit? We can stay and talk until Hannah comes. She was supposed to be here already, but, I guess she's running late." I said, moving to the side of the door to let him in.

He stepped inside, "Sure, I'd love to." He said, looking around my living room.

"Nice place." He said, still walking, now looking at the pictures on my wall.

"Thanks!" I said all cheery.

"Who's this?" Collin asked, pointing to a picture that I didn't recognize.

"Um... I think it's my mom. I never really saw that there before." I said. A billion stuff popped into my head. At least I know what she looks like now. Even though I know what she looks like, it didn't make me happy to see her on a picture.

She left, so, why should I be happy to see her? I hope she never comes back into my life. My thoughts were interrupted by Collin.

"You look a lot like her. What's she like?" He asked.

"Um.. I don't know. I've never met her." I said. He looked at me with a sad expression, then, I looked down.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"It's fine. You didn't know." I said giving him a small smile.

He gave a small smile back and walked to the couch. I sat down next to him, not too close though.

"So... Are you excited for your date tonight?" Collin asked.

"Yeah sort of. I'm really nervous." I said, playing with the new bracelet I got.

"Why are you nervous? Everything will be perfect. Plus, you and Matt are good friends so, it won't be as awkward because you actually know him." He said, stating a good point.

"I know it's just..." I hesitated.

"It's just... What?" He asked sitting up on the couch, staring at me.

I looked down at my hands. I was kind of embarrassed to say it. I was embarrassed to say that this was my first date. He's probably gonna laugh at me.

"It's not important." I said, trying to change the subject.

"Yes it is. I wanna try to convince you to not be nervous about anything but I can't do that if you don't tell me what you're nervous about." He said.

I sighed. "I don't know if you know this but... This is my first date." I said and paused.

Before he could answer, I talked again, "I know, I know, it's lame. I'm a senior and this is my first date." I said not making eye contact.

"It's okay. I already knew. I heard you talking to Hannah in physics about it and who cares if it's your first date. At least you're going on a real date, instead of a hook up at a party." He said. I laughed a little.

"Thanks. I feel a little less nervous now." I said, looking up at him.

"Yeah, anytime." He said.

The doorbell rang and I ran to it, thinking it was Hannah.

It wasn't Hannah...

It was...
