JuJu's POV

It was...

Jack Gilinsky?

"Hey." He said, with his hands in his pockets.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" I asked.

Jack's POV

"Hey." I said with a smile on my face and hands in my pockets.

I came to see her. To tell her I don't want her to go on her date with Matt. To tell her that I...

Love her.

"Hey. What are you doing here?" She asked, with her hand still on the door.

"I was just stopping by to say..." I stopped. I looked at her bracelet. I think it had an M on it. But what does it mean... Oh... M... For Matt.

"Um... Is Matt here? Did he give you that?" I asked pointing to her bracelet.

"Yeah, he gave me this but no, he's not here. He just had Collin stop by and give it to me as a hint to where we're going tonight." She said with a really happy smile.

"Cool. That's great." I lied. "Have fun tonight." I said, a little hurt.

"So... You were telling me why you stopped by?" She said, more of a question.

I couldn't tell her that I love her now. She's so happy with Matt. It'll ruin my friendship with her and Matt. Plus, it's not like she ever liked me anyways...

"Oh... Right. I came by to... Ask you what your number was. I dropped my phone in water and all my contacts got erased." I said scratching the back of my neck, hoping she would buy the lie.

"Oh ok. Let me get a piece of paper. You can come in." She said, opening her door to let me in.

I walked in and saw Collin sitting down on his phone in her living room.

"Hey, C." He turned his head away from his phone when he heard his name.

"Oh. Hey, Jack. What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Asking for JuJus number so we can finish the project this week. What about you? I thought all you had to do was drop a bracelet off and then head back home." I said, a little jealous that they're hanging out. I waited for his answer while still standing next to the door.

"I'm just keeping her company til Hannah gets here." He said. That makes sense.

I nod my head and then stay quiet. About a minute later, JuJu walks back to the door and hands me a piece of paper with her number on it.

"Here you go! When do you wanna finish the project?" She asked.

"How about Wednesday?" I asked, knowing she'll be hanging out with Collin tomorrow.

"Sure! See ya then!" She said with a big smile on her face.

I started to walk out her door, "See ya JuJu." She was about to close the door, but then, I turned around. "Tell Matt I said hi." I said with a small smile, then left.

"I will! Bye Jack!" She said.

The way she was talking to me this whole time, she looked AND sounded happy. It brought a smile to my face just thinking about it.

I'm glad she's finally happy.

But what I'm NOT happy about is that...

I'm not the one who's putting the smile on her face.

It makes me sad to think about that but... I have to forget my feelings towards her.

She obviously has no interest in me. No feelings towards me at all.

And that small moment where we ALMOST kissed at the party...

It meant nothing.

We'll always just be friends...
