"Jack. Meet your tutor, Julia Grace."

Julia's POV

"What?!" Jack and I said at the same time.

I looked at him for a second and then, I turned back to Principal Hart with a follow up question.

"I'm tutoring him?" I asked, emphasizing the word 'him'.

"Yes, is there a problem?" She asked, nicely, wondering what the problem was.

"Uh... No." I hesitated.

I don't know why I didn't just say yes when I should've because, yes. There is a problem.

I can't stand Jack Gilinsky.

I thought that after everything thats happened between us, I would hate him, but, I don't.

And I don't know why.

"Okay, good. Well, Mr. Gilinsky has a test in 2 weeks and if he doesn't get at least a B on it, he'll fail pre-calculus and have to take the class during the summer." She informed us.

"What if he doesn't do good and decides not to attend summer school?" I asked, worried.

I don't know why I'm worried when it's not even my problem.

"He'll be held back."

"What?!" Jack yelled.

"That's why you have Julia, here, to tutor you." She said, pointing me out to him.

She looked at me again, continuing, "He needs help right away, so, if you guys could set up a time to meet today after school, that'd be great."

"Okay. Sure." I said, giving her a small smile even though I wasn't very happy about it.

"Great! You guys can go and head back to class." She said, happily, handing us both hall passes.

We left her office walking side by side, in an awkward silence.

I was about to break the silence, but, he beat me to it.

"Umm... So what time do you want to meet?" He asked, shyly, turning to look at me while scratching the back of his neck.

"Is 5 okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. My place or yours?" He asked.

"Yours." I said, quickly.

I didn't want my dad to know that I was tutoring him because he might know that Jack was one of my bullies.

You know how he'll know that?

From the news. When I was being talked about. Jack was there.

My dad always watches the news so I just couldn't risk it.

"Okay. Sounds great. I'll pick you up at 5. See ya later." Jack said, giving me a small smile.

"See ya." I said back, with a fake smile.

We went our separate ways and walked back to our classes.

I got back to class and there was only about 10 minutes left, so I quickly walked up to the teacher, asking for the homework before class ends.

She gave me one sheet and told me the back and front are due tomorrow.

I nodded a thank you and walked back to my seat with a couple of minutes left. I was sitting in silence for less than 10 seconds when, Collin tapped my shoulder.
