JuJu's POV
*THE NEXT MORNING*
I woke up, remembering that today, I have to go to Jack Gilinskys house. My former bully. I think that's what you'd call him. Who ever thought I'd be going to HIS house? Not me.
I wanted to avoid him for the rest of the school year. Maybe even make some new friends since I'm not being bullied anymore. I just hope he doesn't change and starts bullying me again. I don't think I'd be able to handle it.
I got up and got ready. I put on dark blue skinny jeans from Hollister and a black and white striped shirt from Abercrombie, along with a brown leather jacket from Macy's. I walked downstairs to see my dad cooking breakfast.
"Morning dad."
"Morning sweetie." He said, his eyes still focused on what he was making. It smelt really good.
"Whatcha makin'?" I asked.
"Scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast sticks. I'm almost done." He said adding small stuff to it.
"Yum. Smells great." I said rubbing my hands together, obviously really hungry.
About 2 minutes later, he finished cooking and we started eating. It was delicious. I haven't had breakfast or a home cooked meal in so long. I'm so glad he changed shifts.
We were eating in a comfortable silence for a while until he spoke up.
"How's school?" He asked.
"It's good so far."
"No more bullying?" He asked again.
"Nope. They all felt really bad and apologized. I didn't forgive all of them but, at least I know I won't get bullied anymore." I said, taking a bite out of my french toast stick.
"That's good. Have you made any new friends?"
"I made two. Matt Espinosa who is new in our school and Collin Harrison, he's not new but he's really nice."
"Wow. That was fast. I'm glad you're happy now." He said.
"Me too." I said and nodded. I wasn't that happy though. I was still afraid of some of my bullies, but hopefully, I'll get over it and I will be happy.
I looked at the time and it was 10 minutes til the bus came. I had to take the bus today since I'm going over to Jacks house.
"I gotta go to the bus stop. Thanks for the breakfast," I said, walking over to kiss his cheek, "love you."
"Why aren't you taking your truck?" My dad asked.
"Oh, yeah I forgot to tell you. I'm doing a project today after school for science and I have to go over to Ja...my partners house." I didn't want to say his name because I was afraid that he might've seen the news about the students talking about me and Jack was on there, so, he definitely wouldn't let me be partners with him. If I'm not partners with him, I'll have no partner at all and I'll fail.
"Oh okay, love you. Have a good day at school." I smiled and then put on my brown leather boots that almost go up to my knees.
I walked out the door and to the bus stop.
I saw a couple people from my classes standing there. I stood far away and avoided them. Then, I heard someone call my name.
It was.. Matt and Collin?
I scrunched my eyebrows. I didn't even know they lived in the same neighborhood as me.
I walked over to them smiling.
"Hey guys. I didn't know you guys lived in this neighborhood. Why aren't you guys driving to school?" I asked.
"I didn't know you lived here either. We can hangout more now." Matt said and Collin gave a small fake smile towards Matt. That was weird.
"My car broke down so I have to take the bus, what about you two?" Matt said.
"I have to get a ride with Jack G."
Matt furrowed his eyebrows in confusion about why I would get a ride with Gilinsky. I answered before he could say anything.
"Science project." I said.
He nodded his head and we turned to Collin.
"Why arent you driving to school?" I asked.
"Well...uh.. My license got suspended." He stuttered.
"Aw. What happened?" I asked.
"Umm.. I... Was drinking.. And driving.." He said, hesitantly.
"Oh, wow you're parents must've been mad." I said with a small laugh. Collin laughed too but a little too much. He was acting very strange.
The bus finally got here and we were about to get on.
"Are you guys sitting alone or.." I asked.
"Do you wanna sit with me?" Matt asked. Before I could answer I was interrupted by Collin.
"Uh.. Actually I was gonna ask you about a math problem if you could help me. So is it okay if I sit with you?" Collin asked.
"Yeah sure, I'll just sit on the outside so I can speak to both you and Matt."
Matt smiled and Collin nodded in agreement.
We got on the bus and headed to school.
Collins POV
I was getting ready for school and was about to walk to my car when I saw Matt and Julia walk to the bus. I couldn't let Matt get any closer to JuJu. I think Gilinsky might like her. I'm not sure though. He doesn't share his feelings well. But I knew I had to do something so, I walked towards Matt.
"Hey Matt! Wait up!" I yelled, waving my hand in the air before putting it back in my pocket.
"Oh hey what's up." Matt said.
"Nothing just going to school." Could this be any more awkward?
I tried to start a conversation so I mentioned Julia. "Hey look it's JuJu." I said, pointing where she was standing.
Matt smiled. "Let's go and say hi." He said.
"Okay." I said.
When we walked towards her they started asking questions about why I was taking the bus and I had to make up a lie. I'm a horrible liar but I couldn't tell her, I needed to gain her trust.
Let's hope everything goes well for her and Jack today, after school.
Fingers crossed.
