"Manik"

"Im okay, just a little pissed off, ill be fine though don't worry" he said giving me a small smile and I nodded

"You have lots of work" I asked

"Umm no we are gonna go home" he said

"But work"

"It can wait" he said getting up

"Ahh" I screamed thinking I was gonna fall but he just chuckled

"I wouldn't let you fall silly" he said making me stand properly

"Sorry I got scared"

"All good" he said

We got back home and he was silent the whole time. He went straight up to the room, I sighed seeing how low he was. I went into the kitchen and made some chicken fried rice because we were gonna eat and we didn't so yup

I took food up stairs and saw manic laying on his back in sweats, his right hand was under his head, his eyes were closed but frowns were visible on his forehead

Before I could say anything my phone rang causing manik to open his eyes.

"Manik eat please, you haven't eaten anything" I said putting the plate beside him

"You need to eat too" he said

"You start, ill jsut talk to mom" I said and he nodded

"Stay" he said seeing me walking towards the balcony

I nodded and sat beside him on the bed.

"Hello"

"Nandini where are you" she asked

"At home why" I asked

"Come home tonight, for pakphera, it's rasam" she said

I didn't wanna go back so I looked around for a second making up an excuse

"Mom I umm ma and papa aren't home na so I have to do so many things. i can come some other time" I said chewing on my lips

"Nandini I said come home so be here in a few hours"

"But"

"Give the phone to manik" she yelled

I bit my lips trying to hold in my tears,

"Whats wrong" manik whispered caressing my arm

I handed him the phone and he looked confused obviously but he took the phone

"Namaste aunty" he said and I looked at him to see his face calm a little

"Yes okay, sounds good, ji" he said and cut the call

"Shh why are you so sad" he asked wiping my cheeks

"I don't wanna go" I said

"It's a rasam and I thought you'd be happy to go see your mom and dad" he said

"No I don't wanna go" I said looking down

"But why not" he asked

"No please don't force me" I whispered

"Shh I will come with you okay"

"But you will go after I know"

"I will drop you off and attend a meeting okay. Ill be back to pick you up before you even realize it" he said

"Promise you won't leave me there too long" I asked

"I won't, my meeting is about 30 minutes plus minus 20 minutes. As soon as it ends ill be back. Is that okay" he asked
