Chapter 16 - Acting Weird

A moment by yourself, well Jungkook stood at a distance as your guard. Your mother was really serious about this whole rule. Even yesterday with Yoongi he had kept an eye on you. From a good distance for sure and when you walked around the lake he didn't follow you but sat on a bench waiting for you to return. You still felt bad that your whole "breaking your mother's rule" moment with Taehyung had put Jungkook in this position.

'It seems it's becoming difficult to find a moment alone with the popular princess'

Taehyung suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The funny thing was how this habit of Taehyung appearing like that was not even surprising you anymore. It used to startle you but through the past weeks, you adapted to it.

You looked up from your book and couldn't help but smile a little as you saw him. He was looking well-rested and there was something playful about him this morning.

'yes well... They are old friends who I haven't seen in quite some time' you responded.

He leaned slowly closer to your face

'I might get jealous princess' he said in a low voice

You closed the book but didn't break eye contact with the handsome prince in front of you 'as if you'd be capable of such an emotion'

'Who knows, there is a first time for everything' he shrugged while he leaned back.

It sounded like one of his sarcastic jokes, yet the tone he said it in sounded less sarcastic to you.

'I wouldn't want to upset the one courting me... so prince Taehyung, what do you want to do now that you have me all to yourself?' you responded

'There are many things that come to mind princess, but the majority you wouldn't agree with' he said with a confident smirk

Your expression turned into disgust 'Gross, do you have to overthink everything?'

'Believe me, princess, it's not gross, you would quite enjoy it I am sure of it'

'I highly doubt it' you responded

he crossed his arms 'Can't know if you don't try'

You shook your head in response.

'By the way, thank you for returning Yeontan to Jimin yesterday, he told me' Taehyung said to change the subject.

'No problem, I wouldn't want that little one to be alone outside in the dark' you said because indeed Yeontan was alone yesterday. After waiting for somebody to show up for him you decided to bring him back to the palace where you ran into Jimin who was stressed out, to say the least, because he had lost track of the prince's dog.

'Are you up for a walk?' Taehyung asked as you recalled yesterday's event.

You nodded 'I am, but where to?'

'I thought about the woods?' he suggested

'Sounds good, Jungkook has to tag along, it's punishment for our little runaway moment' you explained

'he didn't follow you around yesterday when you were walking around the lake with prince Yoongi' Taehyung replied slightly annoyed

'how did you know I was there?' you asked confused. Taehyung's eyes widened, and he realized he admitted seeing you there but not saying anything about it during dinner.

'I was standing on the dock with Jimin' he tried to answer as nonchalantly as possible

'oh I didn't see you' you replied partly confused and partly disappointed. You weren't too sure where that disappointment came from though.
