You sensed another person coming closer and considering it was Taehyung you walked with it wasn't a surprise he was now close to the both of you.
You released yourself from Namjoon's embrace and took a step back, which placed you next to Prince Taehyung again.
Namjoon looked at Taehyung as if he was not sure who it was. Come to think of it, you weren't sure they had seen each other before. Namjoon stared back at you, waiting for some sort of introduction.
'Oh Namjoon, this is Prince Kim Taehyung'
Upon this introduction, Namjoon quickly bowed
You turned to Taehyung. 'and this is Kim Namjoon, leader of our army.'
Taehyung gave a nod.
Behind Namjoon you saw that Jimin approached your group as well. You introduced Jimin and Namjoon to each other as well.
It didn't seem like the correct time to catch up with Namjoon, not when the king was waiting on you for breakfast.
'We need to get to breakfast but I will see you later?' you asked Namjoon.
'Certainly, princess' Namjoon confirmed.
King Kim looked awful. It made you feel so bad for him as well. He, without a doubt, loved your mother. and that also meant they never had the chance to be together.
In a way, it would be a bit uncomfortable if you and Taehyung were courting and they would be as well but in a way that seemed to be one of the least important things at the moment.
They had lost their chance.
'Hey Dad' Taehyung greeted his father. Song-Ho looked up at both of you and gave a faint smile.
After breakfast you went for a walk, by yourself, or rather Jungkook was near you but you took the moment. It really was comforting that many people around you cared for you and wanted to be there for you but after breakfast with the king and prince, you could use a moment for yourself again.
You wanted to ask Song-ho about your mother, but you didn't dare to. and if you did dare to, how would you ask him? "hey were you in love with my mother?". The cruel truth is that if the answer was yes it didn't matter anymore.
You sat down at one of the benches in the garden. The cold was not your favorite but as a princess, you had a big enough wardrobe to dress yourself against this type of weather.
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath in, then you exhaled. The pain in your chest didn't disappear, it was there. The memory of your mother lingered everywhere.
You repeated the exercise. Once, after you lost your father, Namjoon had explained that controlling your breath could help with anxiety. It did on many occasions, and it did now but it did not lessen the pain.
If there was a remedy for it you'd gladly take it
'I see you are still following my advice?' Namjoon's voice filled up the silence. You opened your eyes as he sat down next to you.
'Of course, I follow the advice of such a wise man' you replied semi sarcastically. To be fair, he was really smart and wise for his age.
He chuckled at your reply.
'how are you holding up?' he then asked
you stared ahead 'How do you think'
Namjoon sighed 'I can't imagine what you are going through' he said.
His and therefore Jungkook's parents were still alive, though they didn't see them very often. You always felt bad for the two brothers that weren't able to see their parents every day like you did.
