Habieb was watching over me. We were still in the glen. They had moved my body to a more accessible spot amongst the trees.
Moira was hovering in the background. Lance was sitting patiently next to her in the early morning light.
"He is waking" Habieb told someone out of my range of vision.
Reif came into view, a relieved smile on his lips. "You gave us all quite a scare. The people of Gobajia fear you, yet the King seems to adore you as well.
Nintika!" he called over to a fireplace.
"Where's Connor?" I wanted to know, moving myself up a bit to rest my back against the trunk of a tree, immediately feeling my elemental side linking with the tree, greedily drinking the energy from it.
My body's energetic response was shocking and for a moment I was concerned that the people might actually see what was happening.
Habieb seemed unconcerned and everyone else went about their business as per usual.
"With the crisis over, Connor returned to resume negotiations with the King" Reif informed me, taking vitals, looking quite satisfied with the results.
"You are gaining strength now that you are back with us" he told me, standing up. "I will fetch you breakfast and when you feel up to it, we can take the road back to the Palace."
Nintika sat down next to me. Guards were stationed around the area and I assumed it was for her safety.
"You are a strange entity" she told me in her language. "I am not sure what your people say as I do not have your language. But they were extremely concerned about you, insisting to follow you immediately.
Your dark friend called his Dragon and followed you, indicating to your men where you were.
My father gave me permission to come along as well, to see if you were in good health. Bru was as concerned as the others but my father ordered him to stay behind."
"Bru is a good soldier" I told her.
"He is one of the best teachers we have for our Elite Forces."
"You mean he is one of your best Assassins" I replied flatly.
"He is proficient in practicing the Form, yes. He can kill silently if it is required. Our Elite Forces consists of deadly people. But you are no stranger to this. You are one yourself" she pushed back, flicking her shoulder-length black hair back over her shoulder.
"We could do with your fighters if I have to engage Dronier in Warfare" I told her, moving my body away from the tree, the energy having satisfied my energetic needs. The elemental function disengaged and I felt myself becoming whole within this body, feeling it to be a separate entity, sitting apart from Leilaka and no longer being a part of it.
"That is what your Advisor is discussing with my father" she replied.
Reif returned with Elfen porridge Drake had specially prepared for me and I ate the bowl of gruel although no longer being hungry. I knew my body still needed this physical top-up and should not live from energy alone. These physical meals were supposed to be for back-up energy.
Nintika waited until I had worked through breakfast before engaging in further discussions.
"My father wishes you to speak with our Oracle. I do not know why, but it seems to be important to him. I have permission to take you to her. We have brought your horse along for I do not think she would appreciate you arriving on a Dragon."
