*Moira, meet me back at the sea, at the place I am showing you in my mind.*
**That is near where I was born.**
She was quiet for a while.
I concentrated on my riding, following one of the pathways I had found last night.
The path we followed was broad with good footing and I galloped Windshine, followed closely by Habieb on his black mare, and Judya on his pure white stallion.
**I will reach it before you do. I will wait there for you** she finally responded.
I received the distinct impression that she had already turned back from where she had been.
**Keep to the left shores when you go around the lakes. It would keep you out of reach of the half-beings. The shores are sandy and you can really run there** she advised.
Our broad path had ended abruptly in a grassy patch devoid of brush. I guided Windshine to a less used path exiting the clearing on the opposite side. We did not break our steady pace and soon reached the end of the Moorland.
The brush made way for sharp rocks, slowing our pace to a careful crawl while following a very narrow animal path through this dangerous patch.
The slower pace gave the horses a good breather and when we finally exited the rocks, we were almost on the sandy shore of the first lake.
Moira was right. The shoreline made for easy riding and I encourage Windshine to show me what he could do.
After a buck that almost unseated me, he took off and ran like the wind. I had to hang onto his mane not to be dislodged.
"Han! Wait!" Habieb shouted at me from somewhere behind.
*Slow down* I asked Windshine. *They cannot keep up with you.*
Windshine reluctantly shortened his stride, snorting his discontent at me.
When the other two caught up, he kept pace with their horses and together we raced around the edge of the lake.
Windshine slowed down when we reached the periphery of the forest.
After dismounting, I removed his saddle, allowing for a good roll in the sand before he walked into the lake to drink water.
Habieb and Judya also removed saddles and bridles and released their horses to join Windshine.
The horses had worked hard and I was going to give them an hour rest before riding into the forest. We were going to push through the night.
The meadow with yellow flowers was on the other side of this forest and I had already decided to give it a wide berth.
Habieb dug out food for us and we ate the dried fruits while watching the horses.
It was good to be out of the saddle for a bit and I idly stretched my muscles in the exercises I had learnt in my previous life.
"What are you doing?" Habieb wanted to know.
"Stretching my muscles and strengthening my body" I replied.
"Is this what makes you so strong to be able to fight the Cudrl?" he asked.
