We made haste the next day, pushing the Huracan as fast as they were comfortable with.
By evening, Moira took us down to the level of Elfs Wood. She had chosen to descend at the South-Western tip of the deep valley in which the Elfes made their homes.
Here it was not such a steep climb down to the bottom of the valley.
After unsaddling and releasing the Huracan into the magical forest we took a brisk walk down the steep embankment, each with a pack in one hand, a saddle slung over a shoulder.
As we reached the low river, we were challenged by a guard on horse-back. After introducing myself, and then verifying my identity by coming closer, the young Elf allowed us to pass by unhindered.
Soon, more Elfes appeared and the whisper of our arrival was carried forward to the Palace.
Connor and Brutus came towards us as we reached the open grassy area that flanked the Palace.
Connor did not wait, but gave me a fond embrace, checking for himself that I was totally in one piece before giving his attention to my companion.
"Who do we have the honour of our acquaintance?" Connor wanted to know from me, reaching out with an open right hand towards Ragghwaart.
"I am Ragghwaart. The Elder for the Huracan Legion" Ragghwaart introduced himself.
Smiling a broad-grinned greeting, Brutus took my saddle and pack from me. "Habieb is in the stables if you are looking for him" he advised me, and I watched Connor expectantly for permission to leave.
"Go fetch Habieb" Connor confirmed. "We have a meeting in Reif's quarters. I will see you there."
I did not wait for anyone to lay claim to my attention, jogging over to the stables to find my cherished friend.
Habieb was busy bottle-feeding two lambs, one iron-grey, the other sparkling white.
He was not aware of me and I watched him as he mothered the babies, playfully pushing the grey lamb out of the way, allowing the white lamb to drink in peace.
The grey lamb put his head down and butted him on his arm.
"Stop it, Ganzor. Let Maltha finish, then you can play."
The white lamb spit out the spout, butting its partner towards the wooden gate that kept them contained in this area of the stables.
*Hi* I connected with Habieb.
He sighed, leaning back against a wooden support pole, a gentle smile on his face, ready to receive the message from so far away.
*I wondered when you would contact me* he stated.
Finding the connection not draining, he opened his eyes quickly to find mine where I was watching him over the gate.
"Han!" he shouted, jumping up with joy to see me in front of him.
"Hello, Habieb. Introduce me to your friends?" I asked, coming inside the pen, receiving a head-but from Ganzor on my leg.
I picked him up, feeling the rough, wiry wool under my hands. It felt as if I had picked up a ball of struggling steel-wool.
