*** Forty-Five ***

Connor pleaded with me to send Moira and Lance into hiding. He wanted us to approach the Palace as innocently as possible. He did not want to make a scene unless it was really necessary to do so.

Moira was not willing to leave me, grumbling under her breath as I tried to explain to her that it was really of the utmost importance that she stayed hidden.

When things were talked through with the King, she could come to me.

Shaking her head, she complained loudly until Lance came over to give her an almighty big whack with his tail.

To which she retaliated with the result that I suddenly found myself in the middle of a dust cloud of spitting and grappling Huracan.

"Han!" Habieb shouted as I ducked out of the fray, away from them. We were both trying desperately to calm them down. This was a very bad situation if they were angry at each other.

Closing my eyes, my hands in tight fists, I forced a blend on Moira, to make her aware of what she was doing by following her own head. Giving over to Lance, she lay quivering underneath him, staring at me, the large male's claw over her throat.

After a while Lance released her, allowing her to get up and dust herself off by shaking.

*Will you listen now?* I wanted to know from her as she sat down on her haunches as if a large dog.

**I feel that you are not ready to be left on your own. I feel danger in the air. I am not happy to leave you unattended, to wait from afar.**

*I know* I told her, having come over to her, touching her neck where Lance had scratched her, healing her as our energies mingled.

*I am immortal in my contact with you. I will be fine* I told her.

**As you wish, just do not push on the assumption of immortality. I do not feel thus.**

"Will she go with Lance?" Connor needed confirmation so we could get started with the day's travel.

"*She will go*" I told both of them.

Lance launched into the air. I walked over to Windshine and mounted, pushing him in the direction of travel for the day, ignoring Moira.

I heard the beat of her wings before the great beast flew over me, tapping the back of my head on purpose with the tip of her tail. It was not hard, just enough to unbalance me. Windshine complained that I should sit still in the saddle.

"Temperamental" Bru mentioned as he rode past me, following Connor that had taken the lead.

Habieb joined me, catching my eye, just to roll his to the heavens. *That was almost a nasty spat* he tried conversation, which I was not really interested in at the moment.

*Could have been* I replied.

*Do you know what is wrong with Moira?* he wanted to know from me.

*No* I told him, pushing Windshine into a canter to keep up with the leaders.

*I've spoken to Ragghwaart about why most Riders choose to be bonded with Male Huracan* he informed me, riding somewhere to my back. I kept my concentration on my riding.

*Why?* I indulged my friend that needed to get something off his chest.

*Ragghwaart replied that the females tend to be unstable with fluctuations in their hormonal levels throughout the year.*
