*** Twenty-Seven ***

Jamal took me to the Memory Halls.

As before, we were to visit a person that had lived in the time of the specific information I was seeking.

"Who are we visiting today?" I wanted to know from Jamal.

"A High Priest, the Keeper of the Keys. He used to live in the time when I served as Emperor. We did not really get along, the discipline of spirituality did not interest me much when I lived a physical life."

We stopped in front of a closed chamber door.

I looked at Jamal.

"You will have to enter alone. Only the pure of heart can connect with the memories of all those that had lived on Leilaka. I had issues with this man in my physical life. I would not have access to his recordings."

I entered the dark area alone.

Waiting, I considered what I would find. I did not have long to wonder.

The image of a golden-haired Elf appeared in the middle of the room. I allowed my spirit to move around the image, inspecting the Elf from all sides.

He looked familiar, as if I had seen him somewhere before. There was an intense expression in his hazel eyes.

Before touching it with my spirit, I placed my question of how to release the Elfen nation from the crystal to this image.

Touching the image of the Elf, the world whirled into a cacophony of sound and images, before stabilizing on the rocks above the beach on the Southern Shores . . .

I was observing the man in the image where he was looking out over the sea. A huge bird of prey, an eagle big enough to carry a man, was hovering in front of us.

*You need to leave with the others. It is my time to become one with Leilaka. It is your time to rule your kind until we Elfes are re-established in a safe environment.*

The eagle hovered a while longer, beating its giant wings around the Elf, before retreating, flying out over the ocean.

The man turned around sadly. A girl of about fourteen was waiting for him on the path that led to the City.

"Emmaceria, you should not have followed me" he chided her.

She leapt into his arms. "I do not want you to leave, father. I know in my heart that I will not see you again."

"Nonsense child, you must stay with the City. You are to be their hope until we have found a safe place for you all."

"Why did you send the Arás across the sea? Could they not wait here for our return?" she wanted to know from him, holding his hand as he led her back to the broad gates of the white city.

"Only food animals are allowed inside the walls of the city. You know that. Besides, it is time for Bludger to be free from his burden of being connected to me all the time. It is better this way. It is safer for them to go back to their native islands."

"What about the Riders, father. They would suffer greatly without their Huracan."

"They will still be connected to their beasts. Raman had indicated that they would place themselves into hibernation until such time as their riders return."
