POV- Xandyr

I was in love with hope.

     It was obvious to myself.

     There was distance between us.

     Lots.

I was in the kingdom and I desperately wanted to meet her. I knew she had a pure heart to keep the kingdom safe. That was her job. She was perfect. It was at first sight too. I came to try and win her heart but I decided I needed small surprises to keep her delightful heart curious. She had a peaceful, calm mind.

I pulled on my robe and walked throughout the golden city. She constructed it all with her mind. Or her power. Both for sure. She had everything anyone could ever wanted.

I mixed some golden herbs to make my supplements for the day and began to wander around the kingdom to think of a plan. I think today might be the day to try again.

I turned around in a jiffy to get towards the castle. It gleamed in the distance. I waltzed and dodged people and crowds. I grew closer and closer.

There was an area around the castle that separated the houses and shops from the kingdom itself. I found the open area and stared in awe at the golden stairs. I wanted to protect her but I didn't have the qualifications of a knight. I wasn't physically strong, just magically. I wasn't royalty or any status either.

I took a nervous breath and began to ascend the stairs. Each click of my boots sounded slight with each step. I was extremely nervous. I had only presented myself before her in the court once. I felt really shy at the time as well.

I finished walking up the stairs after awhile. I stared at the shine on them after all these years. They still had the same shine to them.

I knocked on the door and it echoed. After a few minutes, I began to grow hopeless. A knight finally opened the door slightly.

     "What is needed?" he said.

"I need to speak with her majesty? The golden knight?" I asked politely.

"Isn't this your second time this month?" He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Yes of course. I have something important to say!" I said with delight.

"Then you shall enter. Come in come in," he said opening the door further.

I walked in with him and he began to walk towards her hallway.

"Just a moment sir. I will need your name and I will be right back to request her out here," he said gently.

     "I am Xandyr," I stated.

"Alright Xandyr, I will be right back," he said as he ran to the halls.

I looked up at the arches in the ceiling whilst I waited. The walls had some golden crystals hanging from the top. I looked at her awards and achievements from the battles as well. She was a stunning maiden.

It was then I heard a closing of doors in her hallway.

The knight was escorting her to the room I was in. They were talking silently but I had no intention of butting in. I looked at myself and made sure I wasn't too bad looking or smelled weird. I didn't.

"Yes?" She sat on her throne in her armor.

"Your majesty..." I started "I must speak with you! I have some important things to say!"

"Well then. Speak. Before you do though, I'd like your name," she said with a sigh.

"I am Xandyr. I have lived here for only 2 years but I have heard your mighty tales. I know you are a woman with a beautiful heart and I would like to know you," I said while I shook in her presence.

"Well Xandyr... I might just accept your offer. I will need details however," she said looking at my eyes.

"A walk through the empty courtyard? Maybe making some fresh juice from the golden tree? Anything that works for you your majesty," I said bowing.

"Those ideas sound wonderful! I accept your offer Xandyr. I do warn you though... I am not easy," she said the word "easy" with a darker tone.

"I understand your majesty," I said while jumping for joy on the inside.

She stood up and looked down at me with a look in her eye that I could not quite describe.

"I see magic in your eyes," she said stepping down to me.

"I see magic in your eyes too," I said back.

She stepped off the steps to the throne and stared at me more.

"You have magic," she said.

"You too," I replied once more.

"What is it?" she questioned.

"Multiple miss," I answered.

"I'll find out one day for sure then. I will see you around Xandyr. Remind me to not forget your name while I'm at it!" She started to walk away.

"WAIT! I-I have more ideas!" I stuttered.

She turned around and said "What are they?"

"I wanna teach you the history of the planet I'm from one day too!" I felt a nervous sweat drip down my forehead.

"I would be delighted to. I have to practice my harp I am deeply sorry. Farewell Xandyr," She said walking away.

"Farewell," I replied.

I'm pretty sure that went well. I've never seen her step off a throne like that so maybe I did do something. I looked down at my dark hands. The rings I had on were made of gold and bits of Armonite. It was a jewel found in Goldenheart. My rings sparkles in the golden sunlight through the palace windows. The palace was quiet and soon the knights would tell me to leave.

I pulled my hood tighter over my head and began to walk out. It was sudden but I was sure I felt something in my pockets. Hmm, a small crown. I was assuming she snuck it in my pockets while I wasn't looking. She was sly too. You learned something about her every day. I loved that about her.

     I really liked Hope.

     Doesn't everyone?

I just wish I knew if I officially had hope or lost her.

You know what they say? You never know until you got hope on your side to find out...
