Chapter 24;

*Makenzies POV*

"Carson, I'm sorry!" Tyler exclaimed, as Carson pushed past him. They were in a huge argument and Tyler accidentally slapped Carson's face.

Carson became furious. "Just leave me the hell alone, Tyler," he kept trying to push Tyler off of him.

"I didn't mean it," Tyler stepped away from Carson. "But you need to learn some respect and discipline..."

"To hell with that! I don't have to listen to any of you!"

"Yes, you do. Danielle and I are your parents now and until you learn to accept it, you'll just have to deal with it,"

Carson laughed slightly. "Fuck that shit." Carson stormed out of the room and slammed the door shut to the basement.

I soon heard the sound of things crashing on the floor, and things breaking, then soon after, I heard the sound of a piano playing. It was beautiful. He was playing 'Moonlight Sonata'.

"That damn boy..." I heard my dad murmur. "He needs to learn some respect,"

"He needs help, Tyler," my mom said. "He's out of control..."

I whirled around to face them, and clenched my fists. "Carson is perfectly fine!" I said, and crossed my arms. "He may not be the best tool in the box, but damn it, he's fine. Just stop pissing him off."

My parents looked at me in disgust. I quickly looked down to avoid their evil glares.

"Don't talk to us like that, young lady," My mom exclaimed. "You're just a child."

"I am 16 years old!" I huffed.

"Exactly. Now just go to your room."

I groaned, and instead of going to my room, I ran down in the basement without my parents noticing. I wanted to be alone with Carson. I quietly tip toed down the stairs, and turned the corner. Carson was just sitting on the piano bench, facing me, holding his hands, and staring at the ground.

I went over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. His face looked pained. He looked up at me, and bit his lip.

"I had to defend myself..." Carson mumbled. "I couldn't just let people hurt me anymore..."

"You don't have to say anything,"

"You're not mad?"

"No. I am not mad,"

He sighed. "That's good," He grabbed my hands, and held them to his face. "I couldn't handle it if you were mad at me too."

He was too cute. "I'm not mad," I repeated. He kissed my fingers, and laced his hand with mine.

"What do you want to do?" He asked, and then kissed my hand.

"I wanna hear you play..."

He let go of my hand and looked at me. I fiddled with my fingers and looked down.

"Stop messing with your fingers,"

"What?"

He pointed to my hands. "That bugs me. It makes me nervous,"

I giggled and he got a confused look on his face. I held his chin, and leaned in to kiss him. He pecked my lips and his lips were tender and sweet. I smiled.

"Makenzie..."

"Yes?"

"Can I tell you something?"

"Of course!"

Carson rubbed the back of his neck and said, "Makenzie, I think I'm in love with you."
