Chapter 39;

*Makenzies POV*

"Carson, hurry up! We're gonna be late for the formal dinner!"

I was slamming my fist on the bath room door because Carson was taking forever in there. We got a call from Bentley, and he asked if he we could have dinner with him, Alec, and a few other people we didn't know. We said yes because we haven't gone out in a while.

The bathroom door soon swung open, and Carson looked adorable. He had on a dark red, long sleeved sweater, and a pair of dark jeans on. His hair was swooped to the side and was a little damp from the water, but it was combed and it looked cute. He smiled, and his eyes glistened in the light. Carson's skin actually looked alive and it looked like blood was actually running through him, but he still had bags under his eyes, but they weren't that bad.

I smiled at him, and he took my hands in his. He kissed my lips, and smirked. "You look fucking beautiful, Makenzie," He placed his hand on my cheek and sighed.

"So do you," I grinned, and he laughed.

"I'm not beautiful,"

"You are,"

He laced his hand with mine, and dragged me down the hallway. Once we got to the front door, he pushed me against the door, and trapped me in. He pushed his body up against mine, as he ran his hand slowly up my leg. I gulped, as he put his mouth to my ear.

"I'm not beautiful," he repeated, nibbling my ear.

"Ok..." I murmured, and he laughed gently. He backed away from me, leaving me wanting more of him. He was truly amazing, and a bit of a tease. I opened the front door, and scurried out to the car. Carson followed after me and we both got in the car.

When we got to the restaurant, there was laughing, and talking all over the place. The place was small, but formal. It had formal music playing, and in the corner of the room, there was a bar, and a dance floor. We saw Bentley and Alec wave us over, and we sat down next to them. There were 5 other people here that we didn't know, but they seemed to know us. Alec welcomed us with a warm smile, and his eyes met mine.

"I'm so glad to see that you're okay, Makenzie," Alec beamed.

"Thanks, Alec," I muttered, shyly. I wasn't good around people I didn't know. Carson squeezed my hand, and nudged my arm.

"So how have you been, Carson?" Bentley winked at him, smiling.

Carson blushed lightly, and leaned towards me. "I've been great now that Makenzies fine," he answered, and I smiled. I kissed Carson's cheek, and 7 people watched me. I felt embarrassed.

Bentley must've sensed that I was uncomfortable, and averted his attention to the 5 people I didn't know. "I'm sorry, where are my manners... Makenzie, Carson, these people are close friends with Alec and I. Their names are Katie, Robert, Myzah, George, and Dylan. They're around our age though, but it's alright,"

They all waved at us, and they seemed friendly. They started talking to one another, and that left Carson and I out of the loop. Carson looked down at me, and smirked. He leaned in towards my ear and whispered, "Want to dance, beautiful?"

I nodded, and he took me out to the small dance floor. Us and one other couple were the only ones on the floor, but it was nice. No one paid any attention to us. A slow song was on, so Carson pulled me in close. Placing his hand on my waist, and his other hand in mine, he lead the dance. I laid my head on his shoulder, and he laid his head on mine.

"This is nice," he murmured quietly, as we swayed side to side. I lifted my head up to meet his eyes, and they were full of compassion.

"Yeah, it is," I agreed, getting closer to him.
