Ep. 13 "Doctor Of The Dead" Ch. 3/4

What struck Joy the most about Cassandra wasn't her clearly revealing attire, it was the way she carried herself.

How she always looked confident, no matter what the situation was, but even with how you couldn't help but admire her every time she walked near fearlessly through a horde of Zs, you could always see the loss in her eyes.

Ever since they had met, Cassandra had that lost look in her eyes that never seemed to wash out, not with the happiest of smiles or the saddest of frowns.

The cannibals had taken more of a toll than she'd like to admit, but even then, she always tried looking on the bright side and still being true to herself even if her past was tainted with blood.

But all that confidence and strength had run out.

And Cassandra was ready to greet death, who had been following her footsteps close for the past couple of years.

It was time.

"I can't do it. Stop." Cassandra whispered tiredly.

To be honest, she could barely keep her eyes open anymore, she could feel herself drifting between reality and unconsciousness.

But 10K, ever the stubborn being he was only tightened his grip on her and kept walking.

"I can carry you, and Joy's got our backs. You're gonna be okay."

Cassandra slowly shook her head, ignoring how the world seemed to spin every time she moved her head. "I'm gonna get us all killed. Please, Tommy."

At that 10K finally stopped, looking curiously down at her. "How did you..." He looked at Joy a few paces behind who was still looking around, knowing none the better of the conversation the two were having.

"Don't blame her...it was an accident." 10K nodded while gently setting Cassandra down by the side of the hallway.

"Okay. Just don't tell anybody my name, all right?" Cassandra attempted a nod, but her head only lolled forward before she settled back up against the wall.

"I won't."

Cassandra's head began lolling to the side before her eyes closed completely, 10K barely managing to catch her head before she managed to hit herself against the ground.

"Cassie?!" Joy rushed up to the two, gently shaking Cassandra's shoulders to try to wake her up, but she was out cold.

Thanks to all the ruckus she had caused, Warren had suddenly rushed back to see what was happening with Cassandra, only to see Joy on the verge of tears as she kept shaking Cassandra while 10K held her upright.
