Ep. 6 "Resurrection Z" Ch. 4/5

Surprisingly, Joy had plenty of so-called friends, she had friends in each and every class and even in a variety of years that weren't her own. But none of them truly stuck around throughout the day.

In class, you'd see her yammering on to one person or the other, but regardless of what, Joy would always end up walking down the hallways with 10K and eating lunch with him.

Occasionally, some other student would test their limits and sit with the duo, but they'd either become severely uncomfortable by 10K's silence or they'd start making him uncomfortable in some way and Joy would end up kicking them out.

After all, she had little care about who liked her and who didn't.

But if someone messed with her best friend, then they'd meet hell.

"That fella seems pretty popular for a guy who just got kicked out of here."

Joy looked back at the cult defector, sure enough he was surrounded by numerous men around his age just chatting casually as they ate.

It was impressive how if you did something rebellious and survived to tell the tale, you were suddenly the center of attention.

Just like high school.

Or maybe the entire apocalypse was a follow-up to high school, or high school was preparing them for the apocalypse.

Who knew they'd be so similar?

Suddenly, the cult guy jumped on the table, his arms spread out wide as if he had just felt a cold breeze on a warm summer day.

Joy chuckled, cupping her hands around her mouth. "Strip! Strip! Strip! Strip!" The group gave her weird looks.

The guy was decently attractive, and she was in a foul mood and needed a distraction, don't blame Joy.

"What?"

"Listen to me, all of you, for I have good news." He called out loudly, even his friends were giving him odd looks.

"The apocalypse is over, and we all get free McDonald's?"

"The Major didn't believe in the word of Jacob, but he will. All of you will be given another chance to hear his word and join the resurrection church."

Joy sighed, and here she thought the cult guy was reformed, he just wanted more members.

He actually sounded just like those door-to-door preachers Gina always kicked off the property.

"Hey pal, you think you can get your friend off the table? He's interrupting my birthday apple."

The guy next to the cult member nodded, tugging on his sleeve to try to get him down. "What are you doing? Get down from there."
