I briefly think about asking Tony what he would do but decide not to. Knowing Tony, he would still die to save the world. I glance up at the ceiling. I've heard that heroes will sacrifice the one they love to save the world while the villains will sacrifice the world to save the one they love. Did that make me a villian? I'm basically going to try and save some lives but if I do, what will be the outcome?
"JARVIS, pull up the footage of the balcony from thirty minutes ago." Tony asks the AI.
"Right away Sir." The British voice sounding computer answers.
An image on a tablet that was sitting on the table in front of me shows the balcony. There is nothing there until a portal is shown opening up and then me falling through it a few moments later. Tony sighs.
"Looks like you were telling the truth." He takes a gulp of his drink.
I look down at my drink, not answering and Tony is silent for a few minutes.
"Do me a favor, stay where I can see you." He says.
He then turns away and walks a little ways away from me while pulling out his phone. He keeps his voice lowered so I can't hear what's being said but I try to guess who he is talking to. It's either Nick Fury or Pepper. I see him end the call and then call someone else. Ok, so he's probably talking to both of them.
When he is done he walks back over to me.
"So am I going to be shipped off to SHIELD?" I might as well ask.
"Let's get this out of the way, is there anything you don't know?" He asks, sitting down across from me.
I shrug. "I'm sure there's some things I don't know."
"So can you tell me what's going to happen?"
I think about the question. If I tell Tony everything that's going to happen then we could possibly prevent a lot of things happening. But at the same time, how much would that even change?
I take a breath and pause before answering him. "I don't think I can. I don't know what will happen if I do tell you. It could be some good changes or it could go horribly wrong. I can give out hints but I don't think it's wise to go and change too much." I knew at some point I was going to have to tell the Avengers about Thanos. That I was going to change. He was not going to win!
The door to the elevator dings and I look over to see Pepper step out. Tony stands up and walks over to her. I stand up as well. She looks at me while Tony whispers something to her then she walks over to me.
"Hi, Tony says you came out of a portal from another world?" She holds out her hand to me and I take it.
"Yeah, I did. Alternate worlds exist apparently."
She glances over at Tony then back to me.
"Well, will you please tell us about your world over dinner?"
I realize that I am hungry so I nod. I tell them about my world, how there is no "Tony Stark" or Super Soldiers. I tell them that Ironman started out as a comic book and over the years became a cartoon and then a big blockbuster movie. Tony smirked at that. There's only so much I can do to not feed his ego. Once dinner was done, Tony walked outside the building onto the balcony where his suit was put on.
"So what is he doing? Patrolling?" I chuckle.
Pepper smiles. "No. He's going to finish making the tower self-sufficient tonight."
I nod and then stop. If that happens tonight then... that means... that Loki has already appeared and has taken the Tesseract, Clint, and Dr. Selvig.
Pepper walks over to a table and pulls up several screens with monitors on them.
"Ok, Tony. We're ready." She says.
I debate over whether or not to tell her what is going to happen. After a few seconds I sigh. I'm going to have to tell Tony so she might as well know too. I walk over to where Pepper is standing. She looks over at me.
"Time to turn off the power." She says and I nod.
A second later the building goes dark only to light up again. I couldn't help my smile. Tony lands and walks back into the building as his suit is taken off of him.
"So you should know that Agent Coulson is here to tell you that Loki has appeared. He has taken control of Dr. Selvig and Clint Barton because of the scepter he wields."
"Sir it seems that my protocols are being overwritten." JARVIS says.
Tony huffs.
Sure enough the elevator doors open and Phil walks out. I let out a chuckle and Tony glances at me. "It was funny in the movie and it's still funny now."
"Phil!" Pepper exclaims, walking over to him.
"Uh, his first name is Agent." Tony says.
Phil looks at me. "I take it you are the girl that says we're all movie characters?"
I look over to Tony. "Yes, Phil, you are correct. And in case you're wondering, you are a fan favorite."
Phil hands Tony a file.
"Yeah, I don't like being handed things." Tony says and Pepper takes it instead.
"Then I assume she's already told you what's going to happen?" Phil asks.
Tony shakes his head. "Not all of it. But I do know that I will join the Avengers." He smirks at Phil.
Phil looks at me. "Well, Director Fury has already said he wants to meet you."
I raise an eyebrow at him. "While I'm not against meeting him, am I going to meet him at the helicarrier? Cause I'll do it only if that's where I can meet him."
Phil nods and steps away. I walk over to Tony as he pulls up files of the future Avengers.
"Looks like you have a lot of reading to do tonight."
I look back to Phil when he walks over to me.
"Fury says deal if you tell him what's going to happen."
I nod. "Deal."
I turn to leave with Phil. "See you later Tony. It was nice meeting you Pepper. Hope to see you again." I wave at her.
I couldn't believe it. I was on my way to the helicarrier. I was on my way to meet Loki.
