The Avengers Part 5

I stand outside the room where Loki is being held. My heart is going 100 miles a second and I take a slow breath to try and calm myself down.

I can't believe I'm about to do this I think to myself as I smooth my hair down before opening the door.

Loki is sitting on the bench when I enter and he looks up at me and smiles.

"Ah! The girl who knows what's going to happen."

I hold onto the rail surrounding the glass cage to keep myself from fainting at the sound of his voice. Loki stands up and walks closer to me and Oh My God he's so fucking hot. I have to tell myself to breathe.

"And what exactly do I owe this pleasure? Surely you're not here to get information." He smirks at me.

I shake my head. Mostly to get my brain to work.

"Or maybe I came here to talk." My voice comes out more steady than I was feeling.

He raises an eyebrow at me. "Are you going to tell me what happens next?"

I can't tell him now. Not when The Other is watching. Not yet. I can't let Thanos know what's going to happen to him.

"Hmmm, I will when it's safe." I give him my own smirk.

Loki frowns a little at me. "I can always force you to tell me."

I look around the room before raising an eyebrow at him, still giving him a smirk. "How? You're in there, and I'm out here." I gesture with my arms outstretched.

I know he could probably just teleport out of there and do whatever but at the moment I don't think that falls into his plan.

Now Loki smiles again. An amused, twisted smile. "You're a cheeky little Pet aren't you?"

My heart skips a beat. He called me Pet! I can feel my face heat up at it too. I look away from him and clear my throat.

"I will tell you one thing that I know." I look down at my feet.

I can't see Loki's face but I can hear the amusement in his voice. "And what's that?"

I take a deep breath and look up at him. "I know you deserve better."

His face quickly changes from one of interest and amusement to one of utter surprise. He stares at me like he's trying to see if I'm joking but I just give him a soft smile. Natasha will be coming in soon and I need to leave. I look away from him and head towards the door.

"I need to go but I'll be back." I glance back at him. He is looking at me with a look of confusion on his face and I turn and leave the room.

I turn the corner to see Natasha heading in my direction.

"And where have you been?"

"I got lost." I lie. Better to not tell her that I've been talking to Loki.

She lets out a hmph. "Thought you knew everything."

I roll my eyes at her. "I don't pay attention to the layout of the ship when I watch the movie. I'm too busy staring at the hot guys on screen."

The corner of her mouth turns up in a small smile and then she turns serious. "So you know Loki's plan?"

I shrug. "More or less."

"Can you tell me or am I going to have to go in there?" She points to the room where Loki is being held.

"I could tell you, but where is the fun in that?" I quickly walk away from her before she can stop me. "I will say one thing," I call over my shoulder, "when you see Clint, be sure to hit him real hard on the head."

If I remember the movie right, the next place I need to be in is the lab. If only just to watch things unfold. Along the way I pass a small break room and my stomach rumbles. I step inside to find something to eat and find some Snickers bars. I take two of them and munch on one as I make my way to the lab.

I finally find the lab, with a little help from a random SHIELD agent and I stand in the doorway and watch as Tony teases Bruce. Finally Tony looks up at me.

"Are you just going to stand there and watch?"

"I would only be in the way. I'm not a scientist." I shake my head.

"No, but you could help by telling us some things." He says.

I shake my head. "I'm just an observer. Here to watch the plot unfold."

Tony lets out a frustrated sigh while Bruce silently watches. "And the plot would be what right now?"

"This!" Steve says as he enters from the other side and sets down some type of weapon.

"SHIELD was planning on using the tesseract to power weapons."

The corner of Tony's lips quirk up into a smile. "Figured they were doing something. I'll find out what when JARVIS breaks through their defenses."

Steve narrows his eyes at Tony. "You're breaking into SHIELD's defenses?"

"Yeah well," Tony sends a glare at me, "Gryffindor here, won't tell us anything."

They all look at me. "Oh well, look at the time, better get going." I turn around and run smack into Nick Fury.

"I don't think so." He turns his gaze to Tony. "And just what do you think you're doing?"

They begin to argue as Natasha and Thor enter the room as well. Luckily I was able to sneak back towards the door watching them as they continue to fight. I roll my eyes and want to tell them to shut up and get over themselves but I slip out of the room and feel immediate relief. I let out a breath and realize that I was being affected by the mind stone as well. I take a few more breaths before I head back to Loki.
