Into the Unknown

The Avengers: Age of Ultron part 2

We land a few yards away from the Hydra base in Sokovia. Everyone has their orders, including me. I am to stay with the ship until Tony brings down the shield surrounding the building and finds a way in. I watch everyone leave and sit back down with a dejected sigh. It's time like this, I wish I could fight or do something. The suit I am to enter is in front of me, all I have to do now is wait for Tony.

I can hear explosions and gunfire going off in the distance.

"Shit!" Tony exclaims.

"Language." Steve admonishes.

I burst out laughing.

"That's staying with you forever, Steve." I say into my comm.

"Really?" Steve asks, the disappointment evident in his voice. I just laugh.

More explosions and gunfire go off.

"Hey guys, I think I ran into the Speedster." Clint says.

Good. That meant that Tony should be finding a way to disable the shield.

"Alright, Gryffindor. Into the suit." Tony's voice comes over the comm.

I stand up and take a breath and walk over to the suit. It opens up and I step inside.

"Holy crap!" I breathe as the suit closes in on me.

"You ok?" Tony asks.

"Yeah. Just a little claustrophobia happening. How do you stand it?"

I have no control over the suit, so I just close my eyes as it starts to fly off towards Tony.

"God I hate roller coasters!" I can feel the suit flying and it takes everything in me to keep my eyes closed.

Finally the suit lands and opens up. I stumble out and fall to my knees.

"Oh sweet land!"

Tony rolls his eyes. "Alright, stop being overly dramatic."

I get up and look around. I walk over to a wall and push on it. It opens up to reveal a hidden staircase. I look back at Tony.

"I want one." I smile at him.

I follow Tony down the stairs.

"Any idea where the Scepter is?" He asks me.

"Down these stairs. Steve should be getting to Strucker about now." I hang back at the base of the stairs so I can hopefully catch Wanda.

Tony continues down the hall. "I found the Scepter, and something else."

There is a nice little corner I can hide myself in as I wait. Soon enough, I can hear Wanda walking down the hall. She passes by me and stops. I step out of my little corner as she turns to look at me in horror. I had the scene of Pietro dying going over and over in my head.

"What was that?" She asks, her voice shakes.

"That is what will happen if you don't stop now." I say.

"What are you?" She asks me.

I reach my hand out to her. "Go ahead. Read my mind."

Her look of horror shifts into one of suspicion as she looks at me. Then Pietro suddenly appears beside her.

"What is going on?" He asks his sister while glaring at me.

Wanda looks at her brother. "She said you will die if we don't stop."

Pietro looks surprised at her and then at me. "What? Can you like, see the future?"

"Kind of." I look back at Wanda. "Look I don't want anyone to die."

She glares at me. "Yet, you are with Tony Stark."

I open my mouth to answer her but Pietro speaks first.

"And Tony is on his way here. We need to leave." He picks Wanda up. "No one can kill me. I'm too fast." He says to me before they are both gone.

Tony soon rounds a corner with the scepter and sees me. "Did it work? Did you see them?"

I nod but don't look at him, I look down at the floor instead. "Yeah I saw them. I don't know if it worked but I think I put some doubt in them."

"Well that's all we can do for now." He says and I follow him back up the stairs.

I get back into the suit and let it fly me back to the jet.

"As fun as that is, I never want to do that again." I say as I step out of the suit.

I take my seat and don't fail to notice that Loki is once again sitting as far away from me as possible. It also doesn't escape my attention that Clint is glaring at him. I really hope that he can forgive him at some point. We make it back to the tower and Tony moves to the back of the jet.

"Alright, everyone. Party in two days!" He says before leaving.

I make it back up to my floor.

"My Lady! You're back!" Kari exclaims as she runs up to me.

"Hi Kari. And yes we're all back in one piece." I hug her.

She curtsies to me and then runs into the elevator. My smile fades when the doors close. I envy her. I take a shower, change clothes, and then collapse on my bed. Loki still won't look at me or talk to me. What if he hates me now? I hug my pillow and cry.

"Miss Gryffindor, Tony is requesting your presence in the lab.

I look up at the ceiling. "I'll be right there." I wipe my face and walk into the bathroom to splash some cold water on my face. When I am convinced that I don't look like I have been crying I exit the bathroom and head towards the elevator, hoping that I can repair my friendship with Loki soon.
