Unfortunately, since humans aren't allowed in Asgard, it means that we have to sneak past everybody. I can't help but feel a little sad that Jane gets to walk around while I have to sneak around but it's also a little fun to sneak around the castle. A few times Volstagg and Fandral have to distract a guard or two so we can sneak by.
We finally come to a set of doors and Thor knocks on one. A woman answers and motions for us to enter. The room is open with a few pieces of furniture and a balcony that leads out to a garden with a table and some chairs. There are a few people out in the garden and the woman who let us in walks over to them.
My heart is pounding and I suddenly realize that Thor is the only other one who entered. Thor continues walking to the other people and I follow behind him. The other people, who upon closer inspection I take to be Frigga's handmaidens, walk away. I stand behind Thor as he greets his mother.
"Hello mother, I've brought her." He turns around and I see Frigga in front of him.
She looks at me and smiles. I take a hesitant step forward.
"Hi, oh wow! You're even more beautiful in person!" I gush and give the most awkward curtsy to her.
Frigga smiles back at me. "Oh thank you, my dear." She holds out her hand to me and I take it.
She looks at Thor and dismisses him. She leads me over to the table on the balcony as Thor leaves. She sits down and I sit down as well.
"Thor tells me that you know what is going to happen. That you can see the future." She picks up a teapot from the table and pours the tea into two cups and hands me one. I take it and add some sugar to it.
"Yes, kind of." I try to think of a way of telling her what a movie is. "I come from a different universe. One where we know what is going to happen here."
She takes a sip of her tea. "And you are telling Thor and his friends what is going to happen?"
I nod.
"And have you changed anything?" She asks.
I nod again.
Frigga sets the teacup down. "My dear, you're not supposed to change the fates of people."
I sigh. "I know. I know I'm being selfish. But over the years I came to love everybody and...and I want better for them." I look down at the tea in my cup and frown.
"I know dear." She takes another sip of her tea.
I pull out the container of cookies. "Umm, I made these and thought you might like some. They're called Coffee Biscuits."
She reaches in and takes one and takes a bite. "Oh these are wonderful. You made these?"
"Yes Your Majesty!" I smile at her.
She waves her hand and a small plate appears. She puts some of the cookies onto the plate and then waves her hand again. This time one of her handmaidens comes back in.
"Send these to Loki along with tea."
"Yes Your Majesty." The girl says with a curtsy and leaves.
"How is he?" I ask when we are alone again.
Frigga shrugs. "I'm afraid he's not eating well." She is about to say something else when the doors open and I turn to see my worst nightmare come true. Odin walks in.
He walks in and sees me and stops, his one eye narrowing at me.
"Why is a human here?" He asks.
Welp I'm dead I think as Frigga stands up and moves in front of me.
"I asked Thor to bring her here. She is the one Thor has been talking about."
I stand up and take a step beside Frigga.
"That doesn't mean that she should be allowed here. And how did I not know about this?"
"I asked Thor to not mention it. I wanted to meet her. I can feel that she will be important to our future." Frigga answers him.
I look at her. Me? Important? I mean I do know what is about to happen. Maybe she just means that?
Odin looks at her and then back at me. He walks closer to me and looks at me.
"You're the one who claims that Loki was forced to take over Midgard."
I take a deep breath. "I am."
"And yet he refused to say anything."
I raise an eyebrow at him. "Would it have made a difference?" There is so much more I want to say to him but I keep my mouth shut. I don't want to be executed.
Odin gets an amused look on his face. "Frigga might think that you are important but you are still just a human." He glances back at Frigga. "Once you both are done she is to be sent back to Midgard."
With that he turns and walks away. I let out a sigh of relief. I am so glad to have Frigga on my side. Frigga lays a hand on my shoulder and I look up at her and give her a small smile.
"Guess I should get going then." I say sadly.
Frigga gives me a hug. "Would you like to talk to Loki first?"
I smile and blush at that. "Can I?"
She turns around and waves her hands. An image of Loki appears. He doesn't look up from his book.
"Hello mother. Come for another chat?" He says.
"Yes. And I've brought a guest this time." She says.
Loki looks up from his book and looks at me in surprise.
"Hi." I wave at him.
He closes the book and gets up from his bed. "What are you doing here?" He asks as he walks closer to me.
"Thor brought me. At Frigga's request."
Loki glances at Frigga and then back at me. "Does Odin know about this?"
"We've met. I am to return to Midgard immediately." I roll my eyes. I also don't miss the fact that Loki said Odin.
"I sent you some sweets, did you get those?" Frigga asks.
Loki looks to the side so I'm guessing he got them. "What are they?"
"Oh they're Coffee Biscuits. I made them." I answer him.
He actually looks surprised at that and I chuckle. "I can cook, you know."
Loki is silent for a minute before turning around. "You should go back to Midgard, mortal. You belong there."
I frown and sigh. "I know. I just wanted to say hi at least."
Loki waves his hand in dismissal and Frigga dissolves the image.
"Don't think him unkind." She says.
I shake my head. "I never have." I look at her and she smiles at me. It's a kind smile but also one that is secretive.
"I'll have a guard lead you back to Heimdall." She says. I nod and we both walk to the doors.
As we exit I look down the hall to see Thor carrying Jane down another hall.
Shit! I turn to look at Frigga.
"I'm sorry Your Majesty, but I think I'm going to have to delay my departure." I give another awkward curtsy.
She takes my hand. "Go to them then." She squeezes my hand and I take off running after Thor.
