Episode 1b: Superball

Episode description: Ryōuta avails his newly-won bright-red superball in a duel with Kouji's slightly-larger blue superball to see whose superball can bounce higher.

It's the weekend in town as Ryouta and his friends Kouji Imai and Tsubasa Kawai are hanging at a small shop doing a drawing lottery.

"Ryouta, you're fired up today." Tsubasa said.

"That guy has bad luck when drawing lots. He probably won't get anything good." Kouji said.

Ryouta was trying to win one of the prizes displayed up on the shop wall. Trying to pick a winning card, he pulled out a red winner ticket in confidence. He exited the shop with the reward in his hand.

"Ryouta, which one did you get?" Tsubasa asked.

Ryouta walked out smiling in admiration of his new red superball.

"Hey, show me!" Tsubasa said.

"Well, well, sir. It's completely red like a fireball!" Ryouta said as he showed it to Tsubasa. "Isn't it cool?"

"That's great! You did it, Ryouta!" Tsubasa said.

"What's that puny thing, Ryouta? A consolation prize?" Kouji said, showing the others his larger blue superball. "Look. Look look."

"Don't you know that smaller superballs are better? You said it." Ryouta said.

"If you lose, it's Ramune." Kouji said.

The two rivaling high school boys glared at each other.

"Well, well." Tsubasa said.

"So, that brings us to this small shop. This place has been here for a while. Some of the other students from high school used to come here when they were younger." Sora said.

Ryouta, Kouji, and Tsubasa turned to see Sora giving Dillon and Aiden a tour of the town.

"Wait, isn't that Principal Hikari?" Tsubasa said.

"It is. And I think that's Dillon." Ryouta said.

"Who?" Kouji said unsure of who Dillon is.

"He's a new student in school who's with us." Ryouta said. "Hey, guys!"

"Hey, Ryouta!" Dillon waved.

Dillon grouped up with the others as he wondered what they were doing.

"So, what have you been up to?" Dillon asked.

"Well, I just won this red superball." Ryouta replied, showing Dillon his superball.

"Wow. Cool." Dillon said.

"I was just about to duel against Kouji to prove my ball is better." Ryouta said.

"Oh. Mind if I watch?" Dillon asked.

"Sure. Assuming if your brother says it's okay." Ryouta said.

"Go on ahead, little bro. Sora's gonna show me around the shop." Aiden said.

"Alright, Aiden." Dillon said.

"You guys have fun." Sora said.

Sora and Aiden walked in the shop, as Dillon, Ryouta, Kouji, and Tsubasa walk across the path from the shop as the duel was about to begin.

"Well, well." Tsubasa said, as Ryouta and Kouji were ready.

"Eventually, I'll make you accept this Ball of Flame that I've got!" Ryouta said.

"I'll show you who the real ace is!" Kouji said.

"Behold! This superball's height!" Ryouta said, taking his stance ready to slam his superball.
