OAD Part 1: Bugs and the Heat

Episode description: Weeding around the school's pool in the summer heat is not really that much fun, observing bugs is far more interesting...

'This episode focuses from the last episode of the original show. I recently found and watched the last episode that was released on 10/06/2009. So, I figured I'd put it in here. It will be divided into four different settings as the seasons go along. Takes place during the summer before Episode 6. Enjoy.'

It's a hot summer day at school. Students of class 5-2 were picking weeds outside.

"It's so hot, even in the shadows..." Yuki said. "Why do we have to pick weeds in this heat..."

"It's our turn, so there's nothing we can do about it." Chika answered.

"Yeah... It's our turn..." Megumi said, exhausted.

"Work seriously, don't talk." Tamura said.

"Megumi-chan? Are you alright?" Chika asked.

"When you're done, we'll go to the pool." Tamura said.

Hirikawa chanted 'Pool!' excitedly while pulling weeds out. She loves swimming. Chika fanned herself in exhaustion. She looked to see Ryouta, Kouji, Tsubasa, and Dillon were looking at something. It was a little pillbug on a leaf.

"Pillbugs are so awesome. Look how many legs they have." Ryouta said.

"Their skin looks so strong, and they can curl up into a ball too." Kouji said.

Kouji poked the pillbug as it curled up, rolling off the leaf. He caught it in his hand.

"Just like an armadillo." Dillon said, amazed.

"All men dream to transform." Tsubasa said.

Ryouta looked over to his left and saw two pillbugs together.

"Look Those two combined!" Ryouta said.

The others turned to look, seeing two pillbugs combined into one.

"All men dream to combine too. Right?" Ryouta said.

Kouji and Tsubasa looked away in embarrassment. Dillon didn't think of anything that embarrassing, but improvised.

"Oh, yeah. Like how we combine our zords in battle." Dillon said.

"Hey!" Chika said, as the guys turned to her. "Quit goofing around and pick your weeds!"

"I don't care about weeds." Ryouta said, as he and the others stood up.

Aihara came over to the others as she spoke.

"The number of grass types called 'weeds' is... Zero!" Aihara explained.

"Aihara..." Ryouta said.

"Wait, really?" Dillon said, confused.

"These are 'dayflowers'. They have pretty blue flowers." Aihara said, showing the dayflowers in her right hand and showing another plant in her left. "These are 'millets'. You can actually eat them."

"You can eat them?" Chika said.

"So the grass you tease cats with is called 'molest'." Kouji said.

"Not 'molest'. 'Millets'." Aihara corrected.

"Guess some people can get those confused." Dillon said.

"You sure know a lot about weeds." Ryouta said.

"The number of grass types called 'weeds' is... Zero!" Aihara said frustrated.

"S-Sorry..." Ryouta said, as Aihara put the plants in the bucket.
