Episode 12a: Roasted Sweet Potato

Episode description: Yūki, Kazumi, Megumi, Natsumi, and Chika arrive at a store selling roasted sweet potatoes while walking down the street on a cold breezy day. Ryōuta, Kōuji, and Tsubasa's sudden appearance interrupts the girls' silent competition over a quintet of sweet potatoes spanning a spectrum of different sizes.

'There might not be a Ranger battle in this episode, but I'll see what I can do. Enjoy.'

It was a cold breezy day. The girls were walking through town all bundled up.

"It's cold!" Yuki said, shivering.

"t really is!" Chika said.

"Doesn't a day like this make you want to eat something warm?" Hirikawa asked, out loud.

"Yeah. Like Oden or Nabe!" Megumi replied.

The girls stopped in front of the shop they visited before. They saw a sign outside that says: Roasted Sweet Potatoes now on sale! They decided to buy some to eat and as a way to warm up. When they did, they realized the sweet potatoes they bought were different sizes.

"There's clearly a difference in size!" Chika thought.

"Without a doubt, the largest one would be nice, but..." Yuki thought.

"I wonder what everyone else thinks." Megumi thought.

Chika, Yuki, and Megumi looked to each other a bit nervously, but then laughed a little. They looked back to the sweet potatoes.

"Looks like it comes down to this... The fastest one wins!" The girls thought, in unison.

"Hey! Roasted sweet potatoes!" Ryouta said, appearing behind the girls.

The girls yelped in fear and gripped him in panic.

"What are you girls-" Ryouta said, confused.

Chika laughed nervously as Yuki and Megumi were a bit terrified.

"It was a reflex!" Chika said, with a nervous smile.

"It's because you came out of nowhere, Sato-kun!" Yuki said, a bit terrified.

"That scared me!" Megumi said.

"Jeez. What's with that?" Ryouta said.

Kouji and Tsubasa grouped up with everyone else.

"Hey, Ryouta, should we eat too?" Kouji asked.

"After seeing those, I've gotten hungry." Tsubasa said, holding his hands to his stomach.

"Alright! Let's go!" Ryouta said, as he ran in the shop.

"Yeah!" Kouji and Tsubasa said, following behind.

The girls blinked and sighed in defeat from the guys. It was then that Dillon, Stella, Morro, Sora, Kairi, and Aiden came over as well.

"Sorry about that, girls." Sora said. "I guess the guys are also struggling to keep warm."

"Oh, hey Principal Hikari." Megumi greeted.

"We were just coming down here to have something warm to eat." Stella said.

"Yup. Even with using my element star's power to help us warm up in school, that's nothing compared to keeping warm outside." Dillon said.

"At least during the cold weather, this shop can give out some really good warm food." Kairi said.

They entered the shop to get something to eat as well, and the girls looked back to their sweet potatoes, and thought different on which one to pick to eat.
