Episode 6a: Observation Diary

Episode description: Yūki suggests Kazumi to observe a more dynamic event than flower growth - experimenting with different methods to wake Ryōuta from his nap in spite of his earlier warning to do otherwise.

Outside the classroom, on the balcony, Aihara was writing notes in her Observation Diary, and looking back to previous ones.

(Notes: July 16th, Grew 5 Centimeters, Nice Guts!)

Aihara then wrote new notes on how the flowers were today. Meanwhile, Ryouta was asleep sitting at his desk. Kouji, Tsubasa, and Dillon went over to him as recess was beginning.

"Ryouta, let's go outside!" Kouji said.

Written on Ryouta's notebook he was sleeping on top of, it said: I'll beat you if you wake me up.

"He said he went to sleep late last night." Tsubasa said.

"Not just hit, but beat, huh?" Kouji wondered. "What do you think, Tsubasa-kun?"

"Sounds like he had to make roasted bonito." Tsubasa replied.

'Bonito is a kind of tuna, if you didn't know.'

"That sounds tough on the body." Kouji said.

"Hmm... Well, it's best we leave him to sleep." Dillon said.

"Kouji. Tsubasa. Dillon. Hurry up!" Takumi said, calling out from the hall.

"Coming, Takumi! Let's go!" Dillon said, as he, Kouji, and Tsubasa went out for recess.

Yuki walked by coming over to Aihara who was still writing notes in her book.

"Ai-hara-san!" Yuki said, getting Aihara's attention. "Let's go outside! See? The weather's nice."

"I'm writing an observation in my diary right now." Aihara said.

"Kids should play energetically outside!" Yuki said, as she leaned on Aihara. "If you don't, you'll become all weak! If you become weak, you'll be like a stir-fry, or all boiled!"

Aihara just kept at it with her observation writing.

"Anyway, looking at something that doesn't move for your observation diary isn't very interesting, right?" Yuki continued. "What's so fun about something that doesn't move and you can only stare at?! I'm asking for a reason for this interest that will satisfy my soul!"

Yuki was right. It is a bit boring when just observing a plant when it's very slow.

"Let's see. Something that does move might be more interesting." Aihara said.

Aihara and Yuki looked over to Ryouta who was still asleep. The girls decided to do a little experiment with him. But he did warn he'd beat up whoever woke him. Yuki pinched Ryouta's nostrils shut as he groaned. Yuki told Aihara the results as she wrote it down.

"Try closing his mouth." Aihara said.

Yuki then closed Ryouta's mouth making it hard for him to breathe. Aihara wrote the results down as Yuki let go.

"He won't wake up for some reason." Yuki said. "Don't you want to see how much it takes to wake him up?"

"Yeah." Aihara replied.

Yuki and Aihara began to further their experiment on Ryouta. Yuki tickled Ryouta's armpits as he slightly laughed but didn't wake up.

Aihara wrote in her diary for experiment one: Slightly weak around the armpits.

Beginning experiment two, Yuki rubbed her chin against Ryouta's head. But backed off realizing she could get sweaty.

"I oozed all over him!" Yuki said, worried.
