Episode 11b: Duck

Episode description: After school, some of the students of Class 5-2 discover a lone duck swimming in the school pool whom Kazumi names Kobayashi. When their attempts to send Kobayashi along with a flock of ducks flying overhead all fail and they began discussing how to take care of it, Kobayashi gets its own volition to fly.

Outside the school, Chika, Yuki, Megumi, Hirikawa, and Aihara were outside at the closed gate of the pool area.

"Look! Over there!" Chika said.

"There it is!" Megumi said.

"Yeah! Yeah!" Hirikawa said.

What the girls were looking at, was a lone duck swimming in the pool.

"I wonder where it came from." Chika said.

"I wonder if there's only one." Hirikawa said.

The girls went silent as Yuki spoke up.

"It's a bird I've seen before." Yuki said.

"Duck." Aihara said.

"That's right! It's a duck!" Megumi said.

"Maybe it'll eat some bread." Hirikawa said.

"Maybe it will." Chika said, as Hirikawa got some bread out from her backpack. "Doves and sparrows eat it."

"Hey! Hey! Have some bread!" Hirikawa called out, and tossed a handful of bread crumbs towards the duck. "Over here! Over here! Hey!"

The duck didn't understand. It just kept silent.

"There it goes..." Hirikawa said, standing back up.

"What if we called out to it?" Yuki said.

"You're right. But what do ducks sound like?" Chika said.

"They're like the domestic ducks. They go 'gah gah'." Megumi replied.

"I see. Gah gah!" Hirikawa said, trying to do a duck call. "Huh?"

"It's not coming." Chika said. "Hey, didn't you hear her? You, the duck!"

"Come on! Over here! Over here!" Yuki called out with Chika.

"Hey!" Hirikawa called out.

"Kobayashi." Aihara said.

The duck heard Aihara and turned around, coming over to the other side. The girls were shocked.

"It's coming! It's coming!" Megumi said, surprised.

"That's amazing!" Yuki said.

"When Kazumi-chan called to it, it came over, right?" Chika said.

"Yeah. Yeah." Megumi replied.

The duck came to the gate, looking up at the girls.

"Kobayashi." Aihara said, petting his head.

"Why 'Kobayashi'?" Chika asked.

"Anyway, it came over, so it's fine!" Hirikawa said.

"Maybe it'll eat the bread from just now?" Megumi said.

The duck ate the bread crumbs that were on the ground.

"So cute!" Chika said.

"It has a good way of eating, doesn't it?" Hirikawa said.

"Yeah. Yeah!" Yuki replied.

(Meanwhile...)

Ryouta, Kouji, Tsubasa, Dillon, Stella, and Morro were doing a little bit of dodgeball. Sora, Kairi, and Aiden were watching them since the school day is over.
