osamu continued to distance himself. for days he would give you short and cold answers and you had no idea what to make of any of them. you tried apologizing, but osamu would always come up with some dumb, yet perfect excuse to get out of talking to you.

you missed being able to talk to him, text him about some random moment you had, ranting to him, annoying him, you just missed him.

"you look like absolute shit."

you glanced up from your worksheet. it was break, but you had nowhere else to be since osamu wasn't talking to you– not properly anyway. you rolled your eyes at atsumu before looking back down, "you're so sweet. is that what you tell all your girls?"

atsumu scoffed, pulling the desk that was beside you closer so that he could sit beside you, "look at you though, doing your work. i'm so proud of you."

you ignored him, scribbling down more answers. you could feel atsumu's eyes on you and it gave you this uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach.

"are you okay? i take it you and osamu haven't made up yet?"

"i wouldn't be sitting here doing work if we had." you looked up to see that atsumu was a bit taken aback with your tone. you sighed, before uttering a quick apology, "i'm sorry. i'm just upset."

he shook his head, "it's fine."

you continued doing your work with small banter in between. maybe it was wrong, but being around atsumu made you feel better.

"are you coming today?" he asked you, getting a small scowl in response.

last time you were there you felt horrible. osamu would walk out of his room, grab a glass of water, walk back in and not even bother with a glance. it was just a reminder that he wasn't on talking terms with you anymore.

"i don't know." you said, "maybe we can skip today's session."

"aw.. c'mon. i'll miss you." you couldn't help but smile at his dumb antics. you simply shook your head. he looked as if he was contemplating something for a minute before widening his eyes, "okay, i got the solution."

you rolled your eyes, "what's your solution?"

"we go to your house for tutoring instead."

"uhh.. i don't know."

just as he was about to defend his suggestion the bell rang. he hesitantly got up, pushing the desk he had borrowed back into place.

"just think about it, okay?"

you gave in with a long breath, "fine.. i will."

you walked into your house, atsumu following closely behind.

"atsumu! it's so nice to see you!" your mom came up to him, pulling him into a tight hug. he laughed lightly, returning the hug.

"it's nice to see you too, ms l/n."

you gave your mom a quick hug and kiss before you left the two to talk. you went to your room to drop off your bags.

you were looking for the homework papers inside the bag so you could take those to the living room when atsumu came in.

you jumped.

he looked around in a sort of funny awe.

"what are you doing in here?! no boys allowed in here," you tried pushing him out of your room, but he stayed put, despite your best efforts.

"your mom said i could come in."

you then stopped, and looked up at him, your face scrunched in confusion. "seriously? osamu has been the only exception."

atsumu shrugged, "guess i should be honored then, huh?" you were baffled. your mom had never let any boys in your room. he studied your room some more.

he stopped once he got to your nightstand. he bent down slightly, his eyes running over the framed pictures you had. they were you and osamu, himself being in some of them too. one was even just atsumu and you as kids. there was a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"cute that you have this one up," he pointed towards the picture of you and him.

your eyes followed what he was pointing at before quickly making your way over. you placed the picture face down, scowling at him, "don't be nosy."

"can we stay in here?" he turned his head to look at you.

you furrowed your brows at him, making him sigh.

"don't make it weird. it's just nice in here. if it makes you uncomfortable we can go back to the living room."

you shook your head, "no it's fine."

things felt a little easier with atsumu.
