osamu and atsumu were currently in the living room, waiting patiently for you to finish getting ready.

the brothers were both sitting in a comfortable silence whilst scrolling on their phones until osamu decided to speak, "so.."

atsumu brought his eyes up towards him, "so.?"

"you seriously stayed awake till 2?" despite the obvious answer, osamu felt the need to ask.

atsumu nodded, "yeah, i did. can you tell?"

a small smile made its way to the others lips as he examined his brother's weary eyes, "i can actually."

atsumu groaned softly, rubbing his eyes gently like that might work to make it less noticeable, "dammitt."

"why were you up anyway?"

atsumu pulled his hands away from his face, furrowing his brow at the question, knowing that he knew the answer to that as well, "you know, y/n's studying and all."

osamu stared at him curiously. he'd literally known him his whole life and if he knew one thing about his brother it was that he loved his sleep. he always claimed that it was crucial for student athletes,
or something along those lines, ignoring the fact that sleep was important for everyone in general. even when high school started and the workloads grew bigger, osamu never caught him sleeping late to finish an assignment or to study.

yet here he was, staying up late for you.

"but you gave up your sleep to help?"

atsumu feigned a look of hurt, "yes?! i'm capable of nice things, you know? i happen to be a very kind person."

"sure," his brother let out a small laugh, "but you gave up sleep and you're not even getting paid," he reiterated, but atsumu continued to act oblivious.

"yeah? like i said, i'm nice!" he got nothing but a blank stare, prompting him to try and defend himself once more, "c'mom, do you seriously not believe me?"

osamu shrugged, his attention shifting back to his phone, "i believe you."

"hey!" atsumu placed his phone down on the couch next to him, leering at his brother, "do you really?"

osamu's eyes stayed glued to the screen in front of him, "yeah, for sure."

"no you don't," the blonde let out a small breath.

"no, no, yeah, i do," osamu answered, mindlessly scrolling through his phone. just as atsumu was about to let out another whine osamu looked up again, "i think you do nice things for y/n."

atsumu's brows came together in confusion, "yeah? what are you trying to get at?"

osamu let out a short laugh before turning away. his statement was too vague for atsumu to make anything of it, which only upset him.

"i'm readyy," you called, stepping out of the bathroom.

you looked at a very upset atsumu and a disinterested osamu, "what were you guys talking about?"

"nothing," osamu answered, slipping his phone in his back pocket and standing up, "ready to go now?"

-

he wasn't an idiot. there was something going on with you and atsumu. but why wouldn't he push that thought ti the back of his head? it was you and his brother. he couldn't even fathom it, and yet here he was now, questioning all that.

"so, how was studying?" osamu finally asked as you entered your class. it hadn't started yet, but a few students were already in there waiting, passing the time by gossiping and laughing.
