you should've pressed atsumu to tell you the truth because now the only thing you could think about was what he meant.

and you couldn't even rant to anyone about it.

"how annoying.." you muttered to yourself lightly, slumping in your seat. you had been sitting in a semi-empty classroom for a good 5 minutes, waiting for kita to get out of practice.

a few students were in there as well, some conversing amongst themselves and what classes they were behind in, others just sitting next to each other while doing their own assignments.

"hey, did i keep you waiting too long?"

you turned behind you to be greeted by a sweaty kita. he wore a small smile as he sat down across from you, placing his bag next to the desk.

"no, you're fine," you assured him, finally taking out your books and pencils. he had refrained from doing so. your excuse was that you were waiting for kita, but really you were procrastinating.

"soo.. how does this work? we just do our own thing?" you mused, flipping your book open.

he nodded with a hum, "sort of. i heard you were struggling with math so i invited a few people from math," he then pointed to the girls next to you, "they're in my math class and are just going over their notes together."

they smiled at you and waved, which you returned.

"others in here are also doing work together. study groups are just to help each other."

you nodded warily, yet tried to give him a smile. you couldn't help but feel a little guilty for being here rather than with your usual tutor.

you bit your cheek, mentally curing at yourself for letting atsumu invade your thoughts again. you still weren't sure you'd come to terms with being so enamored with him of all people.

"do you know if atsumu is coming?"

kita finished rummaging through his bag, pulling out some notes and textbooks. he glanced up, furrowing his brows together.

he could only offer a small shrug, "i'm not sure. he didn't mention anything about joining."

you felt a twinge of disappointment at his response, masking it with a short 'okay'.

one of the worst parts of having a crush was the obsession and overanalyzing. for example, right now you were thinking that maybe atsumu had done that on purpose – that he was avoiding you because deep down he was butt hurt when you accepted kita's request.

you tried pushing those thoughts aside, focusing on the papers in front of you. did you even understand of this stuff without atsumu's help?

kita offered to go over a few stuff with you, as well as some other students around you. you though you were doing fine, but who knew. you were too embarrassed to ask kita.

you glanced up from your work catching sight of kita helping another student. it was obvious from the way he carefully listened and offered advice that he was genuine – much different from.. a lot of people at your school.

maybe that's what had made you ask this very vague yet personal question, "kita?"

"yes?"
