The next morning
Dean pov
I was the first one awake and it was bloody freezing I made sure sami roman and jojo were covered tightly to keep them warm and then went outside the tent it was snowing a badly too I looked over at the lake and it was frozen over
I walked over and and looked out at the frozen lake I heard noise behind me so turned round to see jojo walking over to me with her covers wrapped round her I walked over and picked her up taking her back inside the tent and sat down "you ok" I asked "I had a nightmare" she said "what about cupcake" I asked "the crash again" she wispered holding on to me tightly "it's ok" I wispered as she cried in to my chest I rubbed her back and stayed quiet just letting her let everything out after a while she calmed down and loosened her grip on me and looked up at me "why did mum have to leave" she asked
"Because we needed another angel and your mum was the best angel" I said "will I ever see her again" she asked "of course you will cupcake" I said as she cuddled in to me "you cold" I asked she nodded I picked up my cover and put it round her over hers "what about you uncle dean you need one" she said going to take it back of I held it round her tho "don't worry about me im ok" I said I seen movement out the corner of my eye roman was getting up "god it's freezing" he said "yeah bad snow storm the lake is completely frozen over" I said "what really" he asked coming closer to me and jojo I nodded "damn it wasn't even that cold when we went to sleep last night" he said sitting next me me with his cover round him jojo climbed out my lap and in to her dad's arms
"You ok you cold" roman asked "na im good" I said lieing but jojo needed to be warm more then I did we sat in the tent for hours until it wasn't snowing that much anymore I was pretty cold by then as I only had my jumper and jacket to keep me warm they did keep asking if I was warm enough I just said I was cause jojo still looked cold even with hers and my cover over her jojo then wanted to go out on to the lake we didn't want her going on her own so went with her she seemed to like walking round on the ice after a while tho we were all freezing and ready to go sort out a fire it had finally stopped snowing and there's no way we're getting out of here to go back home with how deep the snow is but as we were walking to get of the ice jojo suddenly stopped roman and sami didn't notice as they were ahead of me and jojo "whats wrong" I asked "uncle dean the ice is cracking" she said scared I looked down and she was right the ice was starting to crack I walked towards jojo abit as she was frozen to the spot to scared to move "hey its ok just look at me ok dont look at the ice" I said I saw roman and sami turn around to look at us and stopped knowing something was wrong the second they saw me walking as slow as I could to a still scared jojo they went to walk over to us but I put my hand up to show them not too cause it will be to much pressure but before I could get to her she screamed as suddenly the ice around us both broke and we fell in to the freezing cold water with out any warning so had no time to take a deep breath I heard muffled voices shouting I swam over to jojo and grabbed on to her she was struggling I put my mouth over hers and breathed in so she could hold her breath alittle longer but when I looked up I couldn't see the hole we had fallen though I looked around but couldn't see it that made me panic not for my life for jojos I looked back at her she looked terrified I swam up as best I could holding on to her and looked around again but still couldn't see it I looked at jojo seeing her had ran out of air and was about to breathe in so I quickly covered her mouth with mine again breathing in the last bit of air i had left and just tired to hold mine as I swam up more but I couldn't see much at this point my eyes were stinging from the water I kept a good hold on jojo and I just tried to find the hole I then spotted it in the distance and started swimming towards it but I couldn't hold my breath anymore and made the mistake of breathing in swallowing abit of water and that little bit of breath I had given jojo didn't last eaither I was scared now
As I was getting closer to the hole I had slowed down abit as everything was darkening around me my grip on jojo loosened I couldn't breathe jojo had already gone limp in my arms and the last thing I saw before everything went black was a figure jumping in to the hole
Sami pov
As we were walking back towards the tent to get off the ice I turned around to looked at dean and jojo who were behind me and roman Roman turned around to seeing dean walking slow and carefully towards jojo who stood frozen to the spot not moving we started walking over but dean put his hand up showing us not to so we stopped and looked at each other worried we then heard jojo scream so looked back just as her and dean fell though the ice
"Dean jojo!!!" Me and roman shout in panic we made out way over to the hole fast but carefully not wanting to break more ice we knelt down near the hole trying to see if we could see them but we couldn't we shout there names a few times
"I'm gonna go in stay here" I told roman who looked terrified but nodded and I jumped in it was bloody freezing I looked around and spotted them and swam over as quickly as I could I got to them and grabbed on to both of them but found it hard to swim back up pulling both of them I had to think fast I swam as close as I could to the hole struggling to keep my breath I closed my eyes tight before I let go of dean and quality swam up with jojo lifting her up in to Romans waiting arms not even giving him time to say anything before I swam back under and grabbed on to dean's wrist pulling him up as I surfaced with dean I could see roman doing CPR on jojo he was crying saying that he couldn't lose her I struggled to lift dean up roman quickly looked over noticing and quickly helped me get him out then helped me out before going back to doing CPR on jojo I checked dean and he wasn't breathing either roman made quick eye contact with me and looked at me as if to ask if dean was ok I shock my head and more tears fall down Romans face a few falling down my own cheeks as I looked at dean before putting my hands on his chest and started CPR on him
this is not how we imagined this camping trip to go for one we heard nothing about a damn snow storm we then heard alittle cough come from jojo roman quickly turned her on to her side as she coughed up lots of water before hugging in to her dad crying still coughing slightly as she struggled to take a breath in he rubbed and patted her back to help I looked back down at dean's pale face his lips were blue "come on buddy" I wispered I could see out the corner of my eye the ice cracking more I looked up towards roman he noticed it too a stood up telling jojo to go to the tent as she carefully walked of the ice roman slowly came to me and dean I stopped doing CPR as roman helped me pick dean up to get him of the ice and away from danger we carried him over to the tent and put him down jojo came over crying and shaking calling dean's name as I started CPR again roman had to pull her away from dean as she was trying to move my hands of his chest and telling me his sleeping he pulled her in to his chest and wrapped her up in a warm cover she couldn't see and roman watch with tears falling down his cheeks as I tried to revive dean
About 5 or so minutes later dean started coughing I turned him to his side letting him cough up all the water he had swallowed after he was done coughing I helped him sit up and wrapped a warm cover around him as he was freezing roman then got up still holding jojo and handed me a cover too as I was freezing from the water too
Over the next few hours we kept a close eye on dean and jojo as we're worried about secondary drowning they could still have water in there lungs they needed to go to hospital but we can't drive the snow is too deep and we didn't bring phones as we wanted to get away from everything we didn't think this would happen
