" somebody help!" I yelled as we ran through the doors of the large hospital entrance. The people who were waiting in corridors started staring and I felt myself get angry. A doctor who was passing by started to talk without looking at us and told us we would have to wait, until he saw James.
We were taken into the emergency an James' little body was laying lifelessly on the bed as doctors pumped him full of potentially harmful medicines and anaesthetic.
A tray was rolled in and I saw needles. Lots of them.
" Ed! What's going on?" I asked him as he grabbed the toddlers hand and whispered in his ear, although I knew James couldn't hear him.
" I don't know love" Ed whispered to me as a doctor started stitching up his little face.
Ed had pulled his hoodie over his head and kept his head down in an attempt to stay hidden from any fans. He was trying so hard to stay calm, but could see him getting anxious as our new found friend lay on the bed,a machine breathing for him.
" do you want to go get coffee?" I asked Ed as my eyes filled with tears and I started breathing heavily.
" I...don't want to leave the lad" he said, not looking away from the toddler.
"okay well I'll go get coffee" I said before grabbing my purse, I could barely see through the tears.
I walked quickly out of the sterilized room and into the café, where a woman stood, dressed in an uncomfortable looking apron and hat. As I was waiting for both the coffees, I heard a radio stating that the death toll was at 180 and counting, and that everyone in my building was dead. All except me.
I began to drift into a daydream state. I heard footsteps coming towards me as my eyes glazed over and I stared into space. a hand was placed on my shoulder and I spun around quickly, startled. I let my vision focus and saw the woman standing with a tray, which held two coffees and two pieces of slice, which I didn't order.
"thank-you, but I didn't order this" I said quietly, barely audible to be precise.
"i know m'am but I saw you and your partner come in with your little boy and you look exhausted" she said in a sweet, caring voice.
"oh, uh he's not my partner, and that's not my son, im looking after them both" I smiled as I spoke, it was true, I did have to look after both males. "oh im sorry, I didn't realize" she said, taking back what she said apologetically.
" its okay" I said quietly, taking the tray from her and slowly backing away, uttering a small thank-you as I walked back to Ed and James.
As I turned the corner into the hall where James as situated, I heard a familiar voice yell from inside a room. I picked up my pace as I realized that it was Eds voice, and he was frustrated. As I pushed the door open with my hip, I was greeted by Ed cursing, and a male doctor directing him to the door. Both of them stopped immediately as they saw me, and I just stared back at them.
"uh, hey what's going on?" I asked nervously, taking in Ed's angry facial expression.
" They want us to leave" he hissed, his voice husky and his hands bawled into fists. I started to feel sick at the thought of leaving James here alone for the night, while the ground keeps shaking on. I stood and thought about the situation for a few seconds before my thoughts trailed back to my house. it was now in pieces.
" Uh we cant go home" I said, directing my speech to the male doctor behind Ed.
"why not" he grumbled, the veins on this neck standing out from rage.
"my house fell down, that's why James here, is hurt" I said calmly, not daring to bring anger back into the already tense room.
"well I suppose you can stay with the boy" he said as he let out a sigh and walked out of the room.
Ed walked towards me as I sat the coffee on the table beside James' bed.
" thank you" he said as he pulled me into a hug, stroking my back. I wrapped my arms around his torso. "your welcome" I said looking up him. although it had been three days, I still couldn't believe he was here with me, I thought it was a dream.
He pulled away slightly, not letting go of me and lifted my head so I was in direct view of his beautiful features. I felt myself become warm, in knew exactly what he was going to do.
"Ed, are you going to-" I was cut off as he placed his lips on mine, gently.
"yes I was" he chuckled as he pulled away, smiling at me cheekily.
"what am I going to do when you leave?" I asked Ed, my happiness suddenly chattering when I remembered that he had to leave in a few days.
" I don't know" he said sadly, I wasn't expecting him to be sad, but he seemed to be.
"i'll have to find a not broken hotel and take James there" I said, I knew it was going to be hard because I had barely any money.
"why don't you come back to London with me and you can live in my house while im on tour?" he offered, I was shocked. The one and only Ed Sheeran was inviting me to live in his house while he's on tour! how could I say no?
"you don't have to-" I started.
"you have nowhere else, plus the lad needs somewhere safe, I insist" He said, cutting me off as he basically offered me his house.
"That'd be great" I whispered.
