Ed dailed the number of the ambulance as I sat. My legs and back ached and so did my head, from crying. James was sitting beside me telling me all about how much daddy had cried and how much he had cried and it made me feel guilty, I should have just ate. While James was talking one of the babies began to cry, " mummy what was that!?" James squealed as he heard the cry of the baby beside me. " mummy had two babies James, look" I said as I picked up the crying newborn and rocked her back and forth. " mummy had two babies!" He squealed and he raced over to the other side of me, where the other baby lay, her eyes open just a crack. James leaned over her and gently kissed her forehead, and with that, she began to cry. " Ed what do I do?" I asked as I nodded my head towards the second baby, the first born who was now screaming, her face turning an unusual shade of reddish-purple. " fuck uh here" he said, he held the phone to his ear with his shoulder and took baby number two from me so I could see to the first baby.

"Mummy, why is it crying" James asked as I rocked the baby from side to side, putting her bottom gently. " she's just upset James" I said tiredly. " can I try?" He asked me as he leaned over, completely blocking my view of the newborn with his head. " yeah, sure jamsie" I said, I trusted him with my newborn, who was legitimately fourty five minutes old.
" sit straight " I said and he did exactly that, I shuffled across and put the whimpering baby in his arms, helping him support her. " daddy! Look!" He said excitedly as the baby began to fall asleep," good job buddy" Ed said.

There was sudden knock at the door, the paramedics were greeted by Ed and one of my babies. They followed him down the hall to me and they both smiled when they saw James cuddling with one of his sisters, he was so loving already.

I was taken out to an ambulance with my miracle babies and taken to hospital, Ed and James had to come in the ambulance, but it was no trouble. We pulled up at the hospital few minutes later where a wheelchair was waiting for us. As I was wheeled through I got stares from alot of people, and Ed had pulled his hoodie up as a disguise and carried James quickly behind me.

We were taken into a room where I birthed the placenta, they were expecting two, but my babies shared one, meaning they were identical. As my babies were getting examined one of them started coughing and a doctor rushed out, taking my baby with him. "What's going on?" I asked frantically as numerous doctors began to run tests and take blood from the other baby. " bare with us" one of them said.

Ed and I were left alone in a room, just left to wonder what was wrong with our children, the room was dead silent.

" Lanie, why didn't you tell me" Ed said expressionlessly as he sat on the edge of the bed beside me. " I didn't know, I thought it was an infection" I said honestly, looking at the wall infront of me.he was silent for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and facing me. " I missed you so much " he said,tears forming in his eyes and gently rolling down his cheeks. He wiped them away and I had to find words "I missed you so much, I'm sorry" I said, I too begn to cry and he pulled me close and hugged me tight " its okay,we are together now" he soothed, I wiped my tears away and looked at him seriously " do you still love me?" I asked, he gave me a weird look ," why wouldn't I?" He asked. " because I left you" I said. " I'll always love you" he said, kissing me passionately for the first time in what seemed like forever.

A nurse came in slowly. She had a weird look on her face and neither Ed or myself could pin point it." Whats up?" Ed asked, a little more casually than planned. " uh, Ed, Lanie, one of youre daughters has been rushed into surgery to repair a hole in her heart" she said bluntly, no expression on her face.

"Oh my..." I said barely audibly,"will she be okay?" Ed asked nervously, his voice stuttering " not sure sorry luv" sje said, and with that, she left to finish her rounds.

" Ed its my fault" i said as i stared blankly at the world out the window. " no, don't blame yourself" he said, but I turned to him with teary eyes and told him everything " Ed, I smoked drugs, had sex and got drunk almost every night because I didn't know okay?" I said quickly, I was waiting for his reply " oh, wow um Lanie why?" He asked me. " because I was too scared to come back to you" I said, crying.

" I will always love you Lanie, don't be afraid " he said.
