"Ed! Get in here!" I screamed down the hall at him. his heavy footsteps became louder as he dragged his feet.  "what!?" he said worriedly as I sat on the bed with my legs crossed. "for a start, lift your feet when  you walk, and second sit" I said, patting the bed next to me. he cautiously came closer and sat next to me, looking nervous. "what is it.." he said slowly. I swung my leg over his lap and straddled him so he couldn't run away and I began speaking. "i have something to tell you" I whispered and he became noticeably tense, his shoulders tightening under my hands. "what." he said simply, looking my in the eyes, mesmerizing me with his gaze. " Murray and Grace are gunna have a baby, I'm pregnant" I said simply and bluntly as possible. "wha-wow that's great! should we call them!?" he asked excitedly, grabbing the phone from his pocket eagerly. "no, don't, just invite them around for coffee, be casual" I said and he nodded as the phone rung.  "yeah, hey Muz, wanna come round for coffee?" he said calmly, looking at me to make sure he was doing okay. "yep, bring Grace too if you like" he said and mumble a 'bye'. "they'll be here in ten" he said and he kissed me, placing a hand on my stomach. " okay" I said, climbing off him and walking out to the kitchen to get the coffee ready.

There was knock at the door soon after and I answered it. "hello, come in" I said directing them to the sofa. Iris and Estella were laying on their tummy's, playing with colorful blocks, occasionally looking at each-other and laughing. "how's things?" I asked as they took a seat. "its alright, we've been looking at adoption" Grace started and I felt the excitement building up inside me as she spoke. "oh yes, how that going?" I asked, trying to sound as interested as possible. "not so good" she said with a frown. "oh dear" I replied.

Ed wandered into the room a few seconds later, with a  smile. "heya" he said, I could already see him trying to keep the surprise. "hey mate" Murray said, standing up and giving Ed a high five. I stood up and went and made all the drinks, returning for a few minutes to listen in on conversation while the kettle boiled. When I heard the kettle, I made all four coffees, handing one to Murray and Grace before coming and sitting down with Ed. "well, Ed and I have some news" I started, I looked at Ed who's smile was growing wider and goofier by the moment. "yeah?" Murray asked questionably, staring at us with eagerness in his expression. "yes" Ed said, holding himself back from blurting it out. " you guys will be pleased to know you will be expecting a baby in february" I said as calmly as possible, waiting for the news to sink in.

I watched their faces as their brains processed what I just said, I turned to Ed and smiled. "wha-we're gunna be parents?" Grace asked confused. "yes, im pregnant, and like we discussed a while ago, you are going to be parents" I beamed and Murray jumped two feet in the air out of pure happiness. "Im gonna be dad!" he yelled, fist pumping the air. He pulled me up off my seat and hugged me tightly, "thank you guys so much" he said and he hugged Ed also. "im going to be a mum" Grace whispered, I could clearly see that she was shock, but I saw past it and saw the happiness in her eyes. 'you are" I said and I hugged her too. She placed a hand on my stomach and whispered 'hello baby' to it before grabbing Murray and kissing him passionately. "babe, we're gunna have a baby" she said. 'I know" said Murray.

It was late afternoon now and I had my last appointment with Doctor Shew today. "Ed im going alone today if that's okay" i said to him as he made tea. "yeah sure" he said and he made his way over to me, kissing me gently. " I'll be back soon" i said, pulling away,depriving me of his sweet vanilla scent. "okay" he smiled and I headed out the door, closing it firmly behind me.

I walked down the road with confidence, I was now confident enough to go out and be me. I was thinking about how each of the girls had bonded with me now, although Ed still had stronger relationship with them both. I had discovered recently that Stella didn't like any baby puree with pumpkin in, while Iris craved it. Iris didn't like raspberry, but Stella did, I never knew twins could have such different personalities.

By the time I had stopped thinking, my legs had carried me to the doctors without even realizing. I walked in and told the receptionist why I was here, before taking a seat in the waiting area. "Elaina Gray?" Doctor Shew said, smiling as I stood up and walked towards him. "how are we?" he said as we walked towards his office. "im great, we had some news this morning" I said and he gestured for me to take a seat. "yes? what's that?" he asked, looking intrigued. "our friends Murray and Grace lost a baby and were told they couldn't conceive" I started, "and Ed and I decided to have baby for them, im pregnant" I stated proudly. "wow that's great!" he said enthusiastically, 'you need to be careful though okay" he said seriously, "there may be complications" he finished and I felt my stomach drop. "c-complications?" I gulped, looking at him nervously. "yes, its possible because of your twins' heart issues and Iris' seizures" he said, "but don't worry just yet, its just a possibility" he said, reassuring me. "thank you" I said quietly. "so everything is okay, no worries?" he said, changing the subject as quick as possible. "no, I feel great" I said with a smile. "well, you're probably only going to have to see me every three or four months now" he said, "you're good to go" he said and he reached out for a handshake. I shook his hand and stepped out of his office feeling quite free.

I walked cheerily down the road as I made my way home, stopping to pat someone's Border Collie dog. "he's so cute" I commented and the woman smiled, giving a thank you as she continued her walk. I wandered up to main road where I usually crossed and pressed the button, waiting for the 'walk' signal. When the light changed I began to walk across the road, I made it to the other side when I saw a male coming towards me. I was still a bit nervous around men I didn't know because of what happened 'that night'.

Suddenly everything fit back together, all my prayers and questions answered. I stopped in the middle of the path and stared ahead of me. Shock took over and I was unable to move as it approached me, coming closer and closer until it hit me like a ton of bricks.
