when it's just us (matt's pov)

The flight to Australia was too long, I don't know what day or time it is, all I know is that almost after an entire day of travelling, I finally arrived to my destination in Australia and after once I left the plane realized it was still daylight outside because here is almost summer and it's almost time for the sun to go down but the view is beautiful...even with all that beauty and view, all I wanna do is go to Milly's place and see her.

I did receive her text when I arrived in NYC before taking the second flight and she made me laugh out loud and I had to control myself because there were people looking at me like I was a crazy person, but I was like: fuck this, she's the best and sweetest and I need to see her right now. She wanted to kill me for even wanting to book a hotel room and she did say she didn't have anything on her fridge, and the next thing I did was to ask the flight attendant the time and she said it was almost 9 pm and I text Milly:

"Hey, I just arrived in Sidney, I'm almost at your place baby...are you home already? can't wait to see you."

I search for the address she sent me yesterday and once I had everything in order and my bags, went outside to ask for a taxi and after a couple of minutes I jumped in and told the driver where I was headed and as soon as the taxi was on its way to her place, Milly texted me back:

"Finally, it's been 84 years since I've seen you...kidding but not really :( and sadly I'm not home yet, still on set but I'll be home in like an hour and a half or so if this goes well, so pray for me. You can take a shower and order some food if you can stay awake while you wait for me. Cannot wait to see that face of yours."

I laugh at her text especially because she's the only one that can make fun of me and tell me old man in my face, but she knows payback is a bitch, because she's the one that falls asleep anywhere and I have a few photos with evidence. It won't until I'm face to face with her after what feels like an eternity and to be honest, I'm so nervous is not funny the way my body is feeling like I'm 16 instead of actual age of 40 years old. So, I take a deep breath and see how the driver is looking at me, but I don't pay further attention.

After long 25 minutes, I finally see around the corner where her apartment building is, and the driver tells me I've arrived at my destination. I take my suitcases and pay the driver and go to the front desk and I introduce myself to the young lady and say I'm a guest of Milly Alcock of apartment 1004 and she says: yes of course, ms Alcock said you'd be arriving, and she then showed me the way to the elevator, and I thank her and make my way to her apartment. Once got there, I look for her number and see is at the end of the floor and like she said, she has a small black mailbox next the door, so I opened and a key with a little card was there, so took it and read the message:

Matt: please make yourself at home and I cannot wait to see you... yours, Amelia :)

I smile at the note and also because she said to me with a serious face that I'm the only other human who is allowed to call her Amelia instead of Milly like the rest of the world; and those are her mum and me.

I opened the door and tried to find the light switch and turned the lights on and then looked around. This apartment is very small but also very Milly and very similar to her flat she just moved into back in London. Similar couches and color scheme; creme and brown colors, she has a few plants around and photos on the wall of her with her family and friends. She also has a photo of the house of dragon cast from various days during filming as well as during the press tour while promoting the show and red carpets from premieres. She has one photo of us while we were shooting the brothel scene in episode four which happened during the very first few weeks of filming and as for me it was the moment I started feeling stuff, but my brain was pushing those feelings off and now looking back she was feeling the same. Then I started remembering one of our early conversations before life became chaotic and we stop seeing each other. I closed my eyes while I try to relax and get my mind off these toxic thoughts, then leave my suitcases in the living room and make my way to her bedroom and I see the time. According to what she told me she should by now on her way home, so I decided to take a quick shower and then order some food. I see her options quickly before bringing my small bag to her room and leave it on the bed, picked some clean clothing and go to the bathroom and see she left a towel for me. I then turn the hot water on and step inside while I leave the water relax my tired muscles and start washing myself and when felt myself clean enough, turned the water off and put the towel around my hip while I start drying my hair and clean my teeth, then went into her room I hear the front door open and see her look around until our eyes meet and we see each other in person for the first time in 3 months and 5 days to be exact.
