Copias Pov.
My heart pounded hard against my chest and drops of sweat formed on my forehead, expressing the stress I was in. What if she was not there anymore? What do we do then?
I nervously tapped my fingers on the wooden counter while we waited for a 'police officer' to lead us to Echos cell.
"Copia, my dear, I believe she's still in there. You don't need to freak out" Sister said and patted my shoulder.
"I'm not freaking out. Not yet" I answered and took a deep breath in. These noises from the outside world were burning my brain. It seemed like they got a hundred times louder since we first walked through the entrance. The strong wind howling while running around the corners of the big building and leaves placing catch on the parking lot.
I nervously looked around, trying to spot an officer who seemed to head over to us but nothing. We were the only ones in the lobby. The rest was completely empty. No ghouls and no other devilish creatures.
It felt weird being here. In a prison. Even if it's just as visitors I wanted to get this behind as fast as possible.
"Fucking back rooms, I swear" Mountain mumbled and propped his head up on the counter.
"They do realize that we could just easily hack into the computer and steal every information they have on there, don't they? I mean, why the fuck is nobody here. Not a single police officer" he continued to speak and inspected the calendar which hung on the wall, below a clock.
"They should be aware of that but either way, they have security cameras" Sister Imperator pointed out and looked at one of the black balls on the ceiling. Small lenses reflected the light of a big lamp, hanging in the entrance area, making it obvious that we were being recorded. Each movement, every word.
"Papa Emeritus the fourth, am I right?" Someone with a male voice said, making me look up. A police officer stood in the door frame and looked at us expectantly. A water ghoul to be precise.
"Yes" I said nervously and straightened my back. Finally someone came.
"Well then, please follow me" he spoke and started heading towards the opposite direction of the entrance. Sister immediately followed and pulled me along by my wrist.
"I will follow you guys, you don't have to grip my wrist like that. It hurts" I hissed and hurried up to walk right next to the police officer.
"So how will this..work?" I asked, ignoring the knots forming inn my stomach.
"I will get backup so that we can bring her into a room where she can speak to you through a window. You will get 5 minutes and not more. Nonetheless she is still a murderer" the water ghoul explained as we walked through hallways with doors everywhere. Also random beds stood by the side. This seemed more like a hospital to me than a prison.
"This way"
After turning left and right a lot of times we reached a big wing door. The sign above it said in prison for life. We were nearly there and then we would see if she's still there or not. If Echo escaped of if she's still locked up behind metal bars.
I felt my heartbeat speed up with each step we got closer to this door. Echo was so near.. hopefully.
"Excuse me Sir but you're not allowed to go in there. You will have to wait outside until I lead you to the room in which you are allowed to speak to your sister-"
"Please, don't call her my sister. I don't want to be related to such creature. I am not related to such creature who kills ghouls or anything else with a life" I said coldly and stared at the police officer who just raised his eyebrows.
