Battling the voice within

"he's not worth it~" a familiar voice whispered into my ear.

"he will trick you~" it said right next to me. A cold shiver ran down my spine as warm air hit my neck at regular intervals.

Oh fuck no.

I squeezed my eyes together, not wanting to see what's in front of me.

"come with me and you're safe from this piece of shit~"

»From who? Sodo? Fuck no, I aint leaving his side.« I thought, wanting to say it out loud but my mouth didn't move, no matter how hard I tried.

I knew this trick now. I knew who this someone was, trying to get me away from him, to use me as a hostage. But fuck no. Im not going to give in, only over my dead body. Anger filled me and my fingertips started tingling.

The sounds of heavy breathing came from my left, making it hard to concentrate. I didn't want to look at the face of Echo, I didn't want to see her. Yet the curiosity was there to find out who she really was.

All of a sudden the surface beneath me turned cold and hard, making me shiver. Like I was laying on ice. It started from the middle of my body, spreading to my head and feet.

The coldness slowly became unbearable so I sat up, still keeping my eyes closed.

Then another weird thing happened. The smell of fresh sandwiches reached my nostrils-wait what? That doesn't fit with the wannabe scary Echo though?

"Y/n?"

Sodo. Why was he here? Where even was I?

"Y/n!" he said more aggressively. His voice was far away and muffled.

"Wake up, you look like you're fucking possessed, please!" I heard him beg.

"Don't do it~" she whispered.

The blood pumped into my head, sending a sting of pure pain through my body. I knew that I won't listen to the voice in my head but at the same time, what if she speaks through his voice? Is that even possible in real life or did I watch too many horror movies?

Sodos pov.

They sat straight on my bed, eyes rolled back. My heart pounded out of my chest as I was trying to somehow find a way to wake y/n up.

All I did was go to the kitchen and make some sandwiches for us and now I came back to this.

"Wake up, you look like you're fucking possessed, please!" I exclaimed and hurried towards the bed. I felt horrible. What was going on?

"Hey!" I said and sat down next to them but immediately jumped up again. My bed was freezing cold and the mattress covered in a thin ice layer. Was that y/n?

"Hey!" I spoke louder this time and cupped their face in my hands. Y/ns skin was cold and pale.

Suddenly they drew in the air sharply, as if they urgently needed air and tore open their eyes. Fear and panic were reflected in y/ns face.

"Y/n, hey! Look at me" I said and got closer to the terrorized looking human on my bed.

"you're safe, everything is fine, okay?" I whispered and got a nervous head nod back. The (color) eyes looked glossy as if tears were close to spilling out.

"Sodo?" y/n asked and touched my hands which still cupped their face.

"Yes darling?"

"She's here somewhere. I heard her again. And she's close. I feel it" y/n whispered, their voice cracking multiple times.
