3rd person pov

„So this guy, Per was his name, right?" Y/n immediately sighted after their brother mentioned him. „Yes Per is his name. What about him?" „woah why are you pissed? I just wanted to say that he seems like a pretty cool guy and that you should bring him over more often. I want to get to know him" Livio asked, his gaze on the street in front of them.

„why would you want to get to know Per?" y/n asked, turning their head to him. „I don't know. Am i not allowed to find new friends" he asked calmly. „Sorry. Yes of course you are. I didn't mean to sound mad or annoyed or anything. It's just-" y/n stopped. „its just what?" Livio sounded curious. „You know that you can talk to me anytime" „yeah and im thankful for that, i really am. I just don't know if i want to talk about it because its a serious thing for me and i know that if Luigi was here he would laugh at me for it" „Well im not Luigi, just sayin" „i know, sorry" „don't be. You have no reason"

There was silence for a while between the two siblings. A comfortable silence. The only sounds you could hear were the ones of the car driving on the street, a quiet radio playing Darkness At The Heart Of My Love and the heavy raindrops, falling from the sky onto the (car of your choice).

"Have you ever fallen in love with someone?" Livio widened his eyes at the sudden question. "Yea. Not the best experience ever to be fully honest with you." Y/n looked at their brother whose gaze was still fixed on the road. "Why?" "Do you remember Catherine?" He asked while turning the volume of the radio down to zero. "Yes I do? But you always said that there was nothing going on between you and Cath" Seconds later the car stopped at a red light and Livio had the opportunity to look at his sister/brother.

"I lied. And I've never told anyone that we were a couple because I was scared. I was really fucking scared y/n" Y/n gave him a confused look. "I was scared that one of you would tell dad because he always had a bad feeling whenever I mentioned her or when she was at ours. He did not like her at all but I did. And that was a big mistake." "Why" the person next to Livio listened carefully.

"I- My problem is that I care way too much about people who don't give a shit about me. It has always been my problem. And especially that I let people into my heart far too easily." He paused thinking how to phrase the next few sentences. "Please remember something y/n. Sometimes, the way you think about someone is not the way they actually are. Take care of yourself. Always do. Do you remember the time when I didn't show up to dinner and shit?" "Yeah you were just being in your room for one week, didn't speak and just came out to go to the toilet" "Yeh that was right after I found out that Cath cheated on me with one of my best friends. Dad was right about her" he tapped with his index finger on the wheel, waiting for the red light to turn green again. "I was just some placeholder for the time she didn't have a real boyfriend"

"Why did you never tell us?" Their voice was quiet and you could see concern in their eyes. "Why did you never tell us about this" y/ns brother looked at their wrist with the bandages.

»I don't want to talk about this. Not here, not now« They knew that they would have to tell him eventually because Luigi is their brother but if now, y/n would break out in tears. "Listen, I don't want to talk about this now because all that" they pointed at the bandages, "has a whole story behind it. If my life was a book this chapter would probably be the longest and most traumatizing so if I'd tell you now I would have a mental breakdown and I don't want that right now while we're literally driving to go shopping. The lights are green btw" Livios brother/sister pointed out and he quickly continued to drive. Luckily there were no cars behind the two.

"Also I'm really sorry to hear bout what happened between you and Cath. She doesn't deserve you. Also, please tell me what I can do to make you feel safe with me" Livio gave y/n a quick confused look.
