|Third Person's POV|

Everyone left the meeting room and went back to whatever they were doing before. Dawn had no idea what to do so she decided to roam outside on the beach.

Yes, she hated water but there were lots of seashells on the sand and her mother loved them so the choice was clear.

While collecting the shells, she thought about Jordan's idea. It wasn't bad, but it needed serious working. They had Kyle which was like a jackpot if the Anti-Justice didn't destroy their previous hideout. Kyle could tell them about all the traps and they would go there prepared. There ought to be something important. Anything, anything would help. They couldn't possibly come back empty handed, could they?

"What got you so worried?" A familiar voice asked, Dawn didn't have to turn to know who it belonged to, and to know he was smirking.

"Whatever we'll do with Jordan's idea." She replied while examining all the shells in her bag.

"He's got some balls to suggest that." He snorted.

"Kyle!" Dawn pinched him in the arm.

"What? He's kind of annoying, you gotta agree on that." Kyle chuckled while settling on the sand.

"He is, but we gotta give him some credit. I can't imagine fighting Comet as well as he does." She answered as she sat next to him.

"Yeah," He grumbled. "Comet gets really hurt."

"She does." Dawn agreed, not getting why he was upset. When he didn't continue to speak, she tied up her small bag and started drawing on the sand.

"Listen Dawn, I know what you must be thinking about me," He started and Dawn raised her eyebrow. "But I'm not like how you imagine. I hated being stuck in the hideout and setting traps and all the stuff."

"Why? Didn't you want to have revenge?" She asked curiously. She had lots of questions about him and maybe it was time he answered some.

"I did, but I was a liability on the battlefield, they prefered me in the lair." He replied, his forest green eyes showing no emotion. Some of his hair had fallen on his face and Dawn couldn't help but gaze.

"I hear your unspoken questions, you know." He smirked. He probably didn't catch her staring because his eyes were occupied by the sunset view.

"If you hear them, you must know what I want to ask." She teased.

"I do, actually." Kyle asserted as he turned to face her. "You want to know what I can do and maybe if I ever had any powers, I mean why would the Anti-Justice let me join?"

"Well, you could be some kind of a mastermind manipulating us all." She crossed her arms with a teasing smile.

Kyle chuckled somewhat knowingly. "Oh, you couldn't be more right."

Dawn's eyes widened and Kyle continued. "I'm here too woo you so you'll go on a date with me." He plastered an evil smirk and young speedster couldn't help but notice it looked familiar. She let that go and rolled her eyes.

"Only way I'll go on a date with you is if you'll run on the clouds."

"Hard, but not improbable." He cracked his knuckles. "Gave me a lot of work. Now back to your questions. I did have powers once, but they were taken from me. Now I'm just a regular guy who can wield a dagger well."

Dawn caught her breath. "You had powers? What kind?"

"I could absorb energy, any kind. I could absorb Raniella's spells, Comet's powers, maybe your lightning too." Kyle stated smugly, then his face fell. "But it doesn't matter now. I've got nothing."
