• Ch 16

She rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer it, but no one came.
She was confused and rang it again just for there to be silence afterwords.

Donghyuck had already left and so now she was just standing in front of Renjun's house looking like an idiot.
She took her phone out to text him, but that was when a car suddenly pulled up into the drive.

He got out of his car quick. "I'm so sorry—" he said before quickly taking Insu out of the car amd carrying him as he rushed to the door to unlock it.

"Insu had some trouble at daycare and it made us stay a tad bit longer so now I'm kinda late to work and I made you stand outside of the house—" He unlocked the door before putting Insu down. "I'm so sorry but I have to go—" he rushed back to his car before looking back her. "Thank you again for taking care of Insu just because you want to. I really do appreciate it."

And those were the last words Renjun said before speeding off to wherever he worked.
Hyunji was left at the front door, confused on what just happened as it all happened to quick for her to process.

"Jiji? You come?"
She snapped out of whatever she was in and looked at Insu inside the house by the door.
"Oh yea—yeah I'm coming bubs." She walked inside and closed the door before locking it.

"What uh, what did you do at daycare?" She asked him as she crouched to his level.
"At care?" He thought about it, and that's when his facial expression turned sad with a mix of anger in his eyes. He then walked away.

"Bubs." She said as she stood up to follow where he was going. He went up to his bedroom and climbed in his bed.
"Bubs talk to me." She said as she sat on the bed besides him as she patted his head softly.
He then turned to her. "Someone said I no have mommy so I loser. I tell them I have jiji but they just laugh me."

Hyunji's heart softened. "People said that to you?" She said. She couldn't believe people at that age was already in the bullying stage.
"Did they really say that to you?"
Insu felt a bit hurt when she asked that.
"You no believe me too? They didn't believe me at care too." He huffed before turning away.

"No—no I believe you bubs of course I do. There's no reason for you to lie to me right now." She said with a little smile even if he wasn't looking at her. "What did Renjun say?"
"Baba no say nothing me. He only talk to mommies at care."

She nodded her head. "Are you tired?" She asked him as she wanted to talk about something more positive. "Or do you want to help me make some dino nuggets."
He then turned around to her once again, his eyes sparkling a little as they looked at hers.
"We make Dino's?"
"Okay." She said with a smile as she got up from the bed and put her arms up. "Come here." And of course, Insu complied.

"Bubs can you help me pick up your toys?" Hyunji said as she was in his play room.
"Okay I help!" He came running towards her as he picked up the toys on his way to her.
"Thank you." She smiled before rubbing his head. She then brought up the talk they had when he came home earlier.
