"Hey, man, I don't know what the problem is, but I swear to God, I am the wrong guy" Words escaped Isaac's mouth as the smell of alcohol reached Simon's nose.

"Oh believe me, you are the one I was looking for" Simon's face was twisted with rage as he held Isaac by his collar.

Simon stood there in the alleyway, his anger boiling over. He couldn't shake the image of me being attacked by his friends. The image of me being so weak, the thought of Isaac killing my unborn child.

He then removed his hands and Simon walked back and forth, his feet splashing in the puddles of rainwater. He felt like he was stuck in a never-ending loop. He couldn't stop pacing, his movements connected to his racing emotions.

But after processing his thoughts he charged at Isaac who was still leaning against the wall, completely drunk.

"Your guys fucking killed my child" Simon yelled, rage and hatred in his eyes.

"Look, calm down, I know nothing, ya hear me? Nothing" Isaac replied, being too drunk to even keep his eyes open.

"You see this little guy?" Simon grabbed his knife from his pocket and pressed it against Isaac's throat "Yeah, do you still know nothing?"

"Look, calm the fuck down, big guy" Isaac was starting to panic and the sight of that made Simon feel even more in power.

"I am a killer and I show no remorse to people who hurt my loved ones" Simon whispered, his voice so rough and intimidating.

And his words seemed to have the effect he wanted, as Isaac's body began to quiver, his eyes wide in fear. Simon felt a rush of adrenaline and he knew there was no turning back now.

His intentions were clear.

...

A strange feeling came over me the day Simon left. I wasn't sure what he was planning on doing but I tried to calm myself down by spending time with Soap.

We didn't do anything special - training for hours was something we got used to doing. Though I have to admit, spilling the tea about Isabella intrigued Soap more than anything else. I told him everything about what happened during Isabella's birthday party, the way she was flirting with Simon and her spreading fake gossip about me being together with Alejandro.

Soap just couldn't stop listening to what I had to say. But at the same time, he couldn't believe a member of our team could ever be such a snake. He had never expected her to be so manipulative and deceitful and he agreed that there was something more than just a small crush and her jealousy.

We just couldn't understand what she was hiding.

We couldn't understand who she really was.

...

The distant sound of a vehicle approaching our base caught my attention. I was once again gazing at the night sky through my window when I saw the headlights of a fast-moving car illuminate the road. As it got closer, I could hear the engine roar and the sound of gravel being kicked up by the tires. I had a feeling that the one driving that car was someone I knew and the thought of it being Simon filled my heart with excitement.

I was sure if it was him he would come straight to my room. And I wasn't wrong.

Soon after I got back to bed and covered myself with blankets, I heard distant steps. With each passing moment they became louder and heavier and seconds later the sound of my doors opening reached my ears.

I didn't move a single muscle as I waited for Simon to come closer. I could hear his deep breathing, him trying to be as quiet as possible. But the temptation to see him overtook my mind. Every nerve in my body was awake and alive, my heart hammering in my chest as I turned to face him.

"Why are you still not sleeping, my sweetheart?" His gentle voice once again reminded me how good it felt to be loved by Simon.

"Can't sleep when I am not around you" I whispered as I lay in bed, my elbows leaning against the soft, plush mattress.

"It's okay, I'm here now" Simon replied, snuggling closer. He was now on top of me, his warmth cascading over me, sending shivers of bliss down my spine.

He gently squeezed my hand and I sighed in relief as my heart rate slowed down and my body relaxed. I felt so safe and loved in his arms, but the question I was nervous to ask flooded my mind.

"Simon? Where were you?" I looked into his beautiful eyes and put my hand on his cheek.

Slowly stroking it I tried to read his expression. His eyes seemed to tell me the truth without saying a single word. He was right there, with me, in that moment. Simon then leaned in and kissed me, his masked lips touching mine.

We gazed into each other's eyes and I could feel a lump forming in my throat as I noticed his expression was brimming with sadness. He looked down and I knew whatever he had to say wasn't going to be good, but at that moment I had to know the truth.

"Simon?"

"I took care of someone from your past" He was still trying to avoid eye contact but he couldn't imagine how much I loved moments like those, when he was so vulnerable and soft.

"Oh, my sweet love, what did you do to him?" I asked knowing damn well that it was Isaac who would no longer be a threat to me.

Simon didn't respond but his eyes told me everything I needed to know. His gaze was cold and emotionless, an expression that I knew meant he had taken care of Isaac in his own way. I could tell he was not sorry for what he had done, but I understood that was his way of showing his love, of protecting me.

"You would kill for me?" I felt my vision become blurry but it wasn't because I was shocked by his actions.

No, not at all.

It was pure appreciation for risking so much just so he could see me live a peaceful life.
